Hey love all your videos! Just a quick note though, contacting your buyers after you've sent their order to ask for feedback etc is actually against Etsy's rules. I used to do it myself, but once I found this out I stopped right away. Violations like this can prompt Etsy to close your shop without warning. Just a head's up 👍

@@KatnippStudios as long as it's transactional, it's well within the rules :) It has to relate specifically to the order you sent them (so no "here's something similar!", or "if you want it cheaper, here's my website"), and no, begging for a review. But saying "Hey, I've noticed that your parcel has arrived, just checking in to see if everything was to your satisfaction! If not, please let me know - I'm always striving to improve, more than happy to fix any issues with your items... your feedback is always appreciated!"Just keep it transactional, and you'll be A ok :D I also put this on my little insert - as then they know if there is an issue, I can help them... rather than them being angry haha

@@KatnippStudios I think they're ok if they're related to their orders :) A couple of weeks ago, Etsy even introduced a messaging prompt system where you could send customers a thank you note and a coupon code as soon as they bought your item :) I'm not sure, but I think this system is part of their subscription Etsy Plus. I can be wrong, but I saw a couple of those message prompts on my dashboard when they were introducing their subscription option :) Love your video

It's also important to be consistent with the type of genre for your product! I started selling just downloadable templates for gift tags, but as time went on I began making more spooky stuff that was more reflective of me and my brand. It's DEFINITELY picked up a bit more because of that. I've been able to combine my 3d printing and 2d art skills to make useful spooky stuff that people enjoy now. :) Sales dipped a bit during the change, but it's starting to pick up again, with a little help from sharing on social media.

You can kind of see trends across social media, and on etsy, and in shops, definately keep your eyes peeled on what seems to be popular, I do a sweep of etsy and social media, and If I see any trends happening I make a little note of it in my notes! Like cactuses or Unicorns ect! At the moment it seems to be witch related items/cactuses and tropical themes!

YOU'RE DA BEST! Thank you so much for the SEO tips as this is the area i want to focus on more :) I completely agree with 'trends', i've just designed a Game of Thrones bookmark and am also working on a crochet dragon pattern! When Crimes of Grindelwald came out, it was ALL ABOUT THE BABY NIFFLERS :P One of the things i've found with Etsy is how much you KEEP learning, despite how long you go with it! One of the really important things for me is BRAND AUTHENTICITY - i am very eco-conscious with my packaging and love the little extras! Especially with my crochet beasties, which are more expensive, each order ALWAYS includes a print and custom adoption card, which i did a whole video on and received such a lovely response
