Just hit a park for the first time in 25 years. Not sure if it's just my area (Socal /LA) but I feel like the entire vibe at the part is so much more welcoming than when I skated back in the day. Really made it easy to get back out there and just roll around. It's kind of like the gym, you think the big dudes are judging you but they are just doing their thing and most of them will give you pointers if you ask. If you are on the fence, just do it!

My biggest tip for anyone over 30 is buy some pads!!! Having a lot of fun at 39 but I've been taking some hard spills and honestly I'm amazed at how well even cheap pads work. Passing the torch like you mentioned is a big thing, my kids are inspiring me to get out there and lose some weight and have fun with them. My son just landed his first shovit yesterday and it put such a huge smile on my face. Loving getting back into skating, cheers!

Good advice for sure. I'm 38 and just got back on a board after about 20 years... Yea, it's totally different now! Trying to get some tricks back really feels like I'm starting from scratch sometimes. Definitely not like riding a bike, that's for sure...

Thanks for posting this! There are tons of folks getting back into skating in their 30s, but not many who started from scratch at that age. I started at 35 and it's been difficult. My body won't let me just drill tricks a million times.

Thanks for the kind words!! I started at 35 but I had skateboarded in the past. But my skateboarding was extremely basic. I could push kickturn and ollie stationary and that was it. I had to learn everything. I am 37 now and def am impressed with my progress. But man it has been alot of work lol. So cool your skating keep it up!!! 🤘

I needed this video today. Re-learning at 34 after 20 years off the board. I've never skated park though and went for the first time yesterday. Fell trying to turn on the ramp and smashed my phone to pieces. My tip no.1 is don't skate with your phone in your pocket 😂 subscribed ✅
