Rebecca Frogel It’s not a bad thing if it takes a while to kickflip. It’s much better to get more comfortable on your board including ollies while rolling fast, going up, down, and over things, and also skating on ramps (with ollies).

He used to skate, plus I think anyone can do ollie on a couple minutes if you commit enough. All you have to do really is hit the board hard enough. But it's a crappy way to learn if your trying to get good ollies. I wouldn't even count what he was doing as an ollie because he's not doing the proper motions, just hitting the board really really hard.

@@lityfity4197 Have you watched a super slow mo of an ollie? Sounds simple but I really wasnt understanding that you have to jumping and going up before you snap the tail. Meaning I was basically doing them at the same time. Then its all about the toe drag to bring the board with you. After watching a slow mo ollie i did one about an hour later. Mikes skill is his mental game, I think he knew all the mechanics going into it and then had to get his body to do it.

*Sigh* This is how you attempt an Ollie: Both feet on the board (obviously), one on top of the tail and the other slightly behind the front bolts (more towards the middle). Hit the tail down and as soon as you feel it touching the ground, slide your front foot towards the nose of the board. Try and find a certain rhythm towards it, makes it easier.

I understand what you mean, but I found that it was the foot positioning and technique that was holding me back, so I tried learning to Ollie and took me months and I still never had it, I was doing it all wrong so gave up, this weekend I had another go and I found that you need to have you foot right on the top of the tail, the balls of your foot balance on the tip and your front foot is either behind the bolts at the front or further back up to you. It's all one motion so you bend and as you come up pop and slide. I found that doing it rolling helped and then tried doing it faster and worked. I can kind of do it now I think but I busted up my leg bad and can't even walk but can't wait to get back out XD

For anyone who is watching this and struggling in skateboarding, an ollie is all about using your jump to kick the board by popping it, and then sliding your foot up the board, all while jumping. Now also make sure you're bringing your backfoot up as well. Then landing is the last part, it's harder to do while moving though.
