Just noticed this is an older video but the knowledge shared is timeless and priceless! YES... have an organized system with how you do each haircut and keep your tools clean and organized too! I've had new customers purposely ask me to do their hair bc they see my good habits. I was also taught to never make a strong line. I created my own skip a guard technique which saves a lot of time. Example- fade w/ a 2, start my fade area with a 4 and then the 2 fades right in (or with a little clipper over comb if needed). Keep up the great work Eddie! I always enjoy your videos and wisdom.

First of all, I would like to thank you for these videos! I am a licensed cosmetologist and had to take a couple years off to take care of my granddaughter! When I stepped back into the field I quickly realized that something was wrong! I couldn’t fade to save my soul. The info you have in your content has helped me realize part of my problem which lies in my equipment! So I look forward to your equipment suggestions! Now I just need to work on techniques and tips and tricks to get better in my craft! Thank you for all you do! I wish I could come in a you tell me where I’m f’n up in technique!

My fades take about 20-40 mins and that's also using scissors. Where I work I'm told that's too long for a haircut. I agree with you any faster and you're sacrificing quality. Thanks for your videos!

Good tips, another good tip is just use your trimmers to draw the the edges, don’t waste your time trying to make it look good when at the end you are going to do the same thing again with your razor. And when doing a fade star removing all the bulk from the sides with a #2 guard (only if the fade have a length higher that #2 guard on the top) all the way up and then scoop it out at the end, from there you know you just going to need just from .5 guard to 1.5
@dan1x10 Жыл бұрын
Yeah definitely helps, I’m 6 months into barbering, and now I use the 1.5 guard or 2 sometimes and clipper over comb to connect better, and then the fade 0-1.5 or 2

I agree with you except with the clippers. I do love your osters though. I'm probably going to trade my Supra zr 2 with the osters lol. But I think the clippers is all personal preference. Just because you have detachable blades, doesn't mean you'll cut faster. I know some barbers who still cut fast with adjustable clippers. Me personally as a barber myself, I'm able to detail more with adjustable blades

Ok so I just bought the andis stylist combo . comes with the envy corded and t trimmer . what guards should I buy to get the best blend ? Thanks for great video's oh and should I get the fade blade .or will the stock blade be ok ? I have cut my own hair once with some janky conair clippers did a taper cause I couldn't get low enough really for anything else. But turned out surprisingly well for first cut just trying to get me and the kids taken care of while we stuck in the house .
