Squares costs less because it uses less surface area. Imagine a 3x3 square and 1 row of 9. Both have a total square foot of 9. Now imagine those shapes as a house, how much material do you need to cover all areas of the exterior. You need 12 on the 3x3, which is basically taking the sides of the square and multiplying it by 4 because four sides. Now do that with the rectangle. Much more. It would equal 20. 9x2+2=20. I'm sure a circle would be a good choice too, but everything comes with positives and negatives. Long rectangles can be good for using the sun to heat your home, but also can overheat too.

1.Using qualified contractor will cost you more 2. Using qualified labor will always cost more 3. Reducing the thickness of interior wall will increase noise coming into room. 4. Changing shape of rooms is totally changing the look of the house. Your points don't make any sense I don't think you got any experience in this field. Why not buy a big tent you can save lots of money but it's not necessarily what you want
