You can even hard Crank on a screw if you take your hand off the trigger and it’s a solid driver. Having the Clutch and it folds in half is fantastic. I’m almost 2-years with it and you are Spot on. LOL! A few days before you uploaded this got that DeWALT DCF682 gyro screwdriver on clearance at Lowe’s on my twin brother’s credit and this will help me justify it.
@TinkerWithToolsАй бұрын
What was the clearance price? They haven’t carried that in store in my Lowe’s for more than a year now. I always balked at the price and then when I finally got it I was mad I didn’t buy it sooner.
@emmettturner9452Ай бұрын
It wasn’t the deepest clearance ever but I tried to look it up on Brick Seek and realized you couldn’t even search Lowe’s inventory for it anymore. I asked the store (Newnan, GA) to check their system for more and they said it was the last one. YT always deletes comments with a dollar sign so: 62 and a half bucks, so almost 30 off.
@TinkerWithToolsАй бұрын
Nice find. Hope you end up liking it!

Nice list. I have a few of those, sometimes exactly as specified, sometimes an alternate version; I'm going to add the tweezers. The tool I grab most often is going to be a flashlight. I've collected them since I was a kid (now retired), and have some favorites. My current EDC is the Boruit V20. It replaces a Sofirn SC21 Pro on the merits of its area light function. My favorite toolbag flashlight is the Sofirn IF24 Pro or IF23; the former has an easier interface, and the latter has a bigger battery.
@TinkerWithToolsАй бұрын
I typically will have a flashlight in my tool bags (right now using the Wuben E7 for both bags) and then if I need more light I turn to the newest Milwaukee task light as it provide more light but is still decently compact. As for EDC, i just haven't found the light that I love enough to make this list... but i'll typically either have an Olight I5R/I5T or occasionally something a little bigger.

I would encourage people to watch project farms review on electric screwdrivers. The amazon basics beat all the big name brands and it’s 20 bucks, usb rechargeable.

I know how you feel! I was doing a lot of home maintenance recently and found myself using my worn out old tools and lacking many tools. I’ve treated myself to the veto pro pack tech xl which came with a smaller bag. Then bought a selection of Wera drivers, Knipex tools and estwing hammer and pry bars. This is my base kit and I’m going to add to it every pay day until I’m satisfied. Top quality German or USA made tools to last a lifetime only, no trash allowed.

The one “tool” I can’t live without is my Olight Arcfeld Pro. I do home inspections and the laser, UV light, and flashlight are used daily. The convenience of having them all on a single flashlight is what really sells it.
@TinkerWithToolsАй бұрын
I have the arkfeld Pro and it's a pretty awesome light. I initially wondered how much of a gimmick it would be but honestly I find myself using it for the laser point almost more than the flashlight at times.

Nice list TWT! Was suprised to see the Wiss sheers. I have a pair and Love them for lots of stuff especially cutting zip ties. But I figured not too many people choose a pair of HD sheers over plier style cutters for many things. Even though I've found, as im sure you have as well, that they are so versatile.
@TinkerWithToolsАй бұрын
I just like their versatility of being able to cut something thicker like card board of thicker plastics as well as doing something smaller. In a small toolbag where I normally keep mine, having something versatile like that is key.

Great tool that I would recommend is the Engineer Heavy Duty Multi-function combi Gripping Pliers/Screw Extractors ( It's the same as Vampliers ). Works great, and there are various types. I have the pz-59 and it's better than any screw extractor made for a driver.

I’ve noticed in most of your videos that you like using the blue wiha bits with your drills and impacts. Any chance you could tell us a little about why you prefer those over the many other options out there?
@TinkerWithToolsАй бұрын
Great question! I have tried most of the brands of bits that are readily available at the hardware store and while there are others that are satisfactory for me, the wiha bits have risen above the top for the following reasons 1) I've never broken a bit. I had one T30 bit get rounded over a bit and get replaced but it was still functional, just not as good as original. 2) The fit of the bit into the fasterners, whether it's a torx, square drive, phillips etc... they all just seem to fit a little bit better. That comes into play more in day to day use and not as much in testing. 3) when it comes to price, they aren't super cheap compared to others, but they aren't too expensive either. If you can keep an eye on lowe's clearance deals in store, you can usually get multi packs at a decent price. 4) the last reason is dumb but true. If you use a dewalt bit in a Milwaukee impact on camera - someone is sure to point it out. Wiha doesn't make power tools, so having an "agnostic" bit if you will, just makes it so you don't deal with those comments. 5) I should also point out that while I do have a set of Wiha nut drivers, they are a bit pricy and longer than I prefer, so you will typically see me using either Dewalt or Milwaukee nut drivers. If I weren't running Wiha, the other bits I prefer are the Makita XPS, Dewalt Flextorq (the black dewalt bits, not the grey color) and the Milwaukee silver bits aren't terrible either. I've tried stuff from Ryobi, Bosch, other dewalt, other makita, Flex but the other ones i have mentioned take the top spots for me.

Hammer is a necessary tool for sure and one I COULDN’T live without but it just didn’t rise quite to this level of love. I considered my titanium head stiletto framing hammer but it’s a bigger hammer so I don’t grab it for everything. If I ever buy a stiletto or Martinez trim hammer you might see it end up on a list like this.

If you have used the Leatherman ARC. You are missing out, hands down the best multi tool I own. Speaking of, I’ll add context. I own the Leatherman Rebar, Crunch(another multi tool I can’t live without) Wave+, Surge, and ARC. I also own 3 Gerber Multi Tools, two of the suspension, and one NXT. All off which are cheap multi tools that I would not recommend to anyone. And also have the Dewalt multi tool, it’s definitely the cheapest and most worthless one I own. So believe me the ARC is worth every single penny.
@TinkerWithToolsАй бұрын
I bought the wave+ initially and loved it. Had a lot that I liked about it but then the Free P4 came on sale for $100 on prime day. Picked it up and was amazed at how much more I liked it. Sure I gave up the bit holder and the precision screwdriver but the placement of many of the tools on the outside where they are easily accessible more than made up for it. I will one day own the arc and I am sure when I do I’ll feel the same way. I just have gotten over the $130 premium I would pay over the two that I own.
@rnuovz71Ай бұрын
The extra cost is definitely a down side but, it makes up for it especially if you use it daily like I do.

I'm a fan of the OX carbon pencil that is now easily accessible at Lowes.But most of the brands are great and way ahead of the old pencil imo. Can't remember if you've done a pencil comparison but if not that might be a fun vid for ya. And imo the more exposure these types of carpenter pencils get the better. I can't believe how much I love mine compared to the old sharpening, lead breaking, pencil losing, routine of the original carpenters pencil. I'm sure the old pencil still has its place as im not lending my OX out to anyone on a jobsite. But man, the new age of the mechanical carpenters pencil with the thin shaft and built in sharpener in its holster is pretty awesome imo.
@TinkerWithToolsАй бұрын
I agree with you! I have the ox and like it too - the ox was readily available at my Lowes at a time when Pica was harder to get online but not it's disappeared from shelves there. I have also tried a few other brands off amazon too and really like most of them. As for a comparison - I have considered it but just haven't gotten to it yet. Might have to put something together.

@TinkerWithTools general carpenter, sheet metal worker. The tool has a few advantages over the measure tape. 90 degree angle built in, more pocket friendly, can draw straight lines along it. (which i do all the time, both for wood and in particular metal). Its more precise than a measure tape. I have the same pica as you also, but i can live without it. The hultafors, no.
