A Whole Life, The Road Not Taken: I think that we like to believe we have the power to make choices that make the paths of our lives but of course we really can never know, only believe. It's something I think about sometimes when I recall this girl I knew fifty years ago. What would have happened if.... I don't know, maybe no change at all. Maybe it wasn't even possible? I don't know but I do think about it.

I listened to the audio of night boat to Tangier read by the author and it was brilliant. The book and the narration. Barry could be an incredible actor, I think.

We just read Trust in a book club I moderate and it provoked a fascinating discussion (and for me was eye-opening to read twice). I love the idea of Hotel du Lac (my favorite Brookner) as a book club book and now I want to reread it and the Spark as well. Percival Everett’s books would also be great for book clubs, I think.

There are two books with completely different plots by Lewycka but with very similar titles, “A Short History…” and “A Shorter History….” The first of these seems to be the one you discussed. 😊

I love The Folding Star. There were some great comic moments in the midst of sadness. A book I need to reread.

Hey bro ur my fave booktuber. I'd like to see you review/ book club The Maniac/When We Cease to Understand the World. They're a quirky mixing of non-/ fiction and interesting in the way they struggle to meet the genres intersection in a whole new way. At least, I was blown away by labatut.
