At 36:00 why beta hydride elimination done from O side, there is in the form of ch2ch3 hydrogen is present?? Or why in 3 optn 18 electron species become 16 electron, i think it cant be done??? Plz clear

The question was that which reaction will NOT produce ethane, we were looking at all the possibilities that Ethane will be formed. Yes you are correct, Beta hydrogen of CH2CH3 can also undergo elimination and a different set of product will be there... But is is of our concern? No... We were looking for ethane so we checked from OCH3 and it worked from that side. So both products will be there, there should be no confusion in major or minor bcoz the question does not asks about it.

In reaction C, yes you are correct that a 18e species is getting converted into 16e but that's what happens when you do 1,2 Migratory insertion. Now why it happened? Coz we have to react that 18e species with ethene, which formed a pi bond with metal which being a weaker bond than a sigma bond formed after MI is the driving force for that conversion.
