I got in at PFG and here it’s really nice only 4 days a week and usually no more than 45 hours a week and they offer “entry level driver program” which is 3 months training and afterward luckily I’m practically guaranteed a route after my training and from what I hear I’ll be making between 70-80k first year.

As a big side note for anyone watching these videos looking for careers advice whether or not a company will hire recent graduates depends entirely on what state you’re applying in. Not all franchises will hire recent graduates, so if a company you have your eye on wasn’t on this list they still may hire you. Also some companies on this list won’t hire you. It depends on where you live. Also beware, some of these companies will have you driving in very high risk, tight places and as a new driver you DO NOT want to start racking up accidents. TAKE YOUR TIME & KNOW YOUR LIMITS. Some of these companies won’t hesitate for a second to have you backing in off a busy street on your first day on your own.

New subscriber. I really appreciate your content - it’s extremely helpful. Have an interview with Mclane St. Peters Mo Monday - Im concerned about working through the night - seems most food service expect overnight work. I really want the opportunity but this makes me a little cautious. Titus transportation is another- They deliver to Aldis and according to the recruiter ( 🤨 recruiters ) she said they don’t brake down the pallets and you run several runs 10-12 hours per shift. BUT I see it doesn’t appear they put out the money and benefits like Mclane and what you said about GFS. I see GFS is also in that area but I don’t see any job listings on indeed or glass door. Thank you Anthony 👍✌️

Yes, I consider myself to be an introvert as well. However, there are moments where you may have to interact with customers. Usually it’s just a simple greeting. You’re not really having long conversations. After your training, it’s just you & the truck unless you’re with a company who does team driving.

@imanthonytv
@imanthonytv Жыл бұрын
That’s very weird considering their website specifically states and I quote “Whether you’re a new driver who’s just beginning their journey into trucking or you’re far beyond your millionth mile, you may still have questions about your experience at Prime. Find out why we’re considered one of the best trucking and logistics companies to work for in North America.” Their website also states this and I quote “When we hire a new driver they receive a competitive compensation package that stands out from the rest of the truck driving jobs in the industry.” This is directly from their website. 🤷🏾‍♂️

@poppatello
@poppatello Жыл бұрын
A lot of companies are now getting very selective of their drivers because of the market. They would rather train folks to get the CDL from them so you learn their way. Downside is lower pay and normally a contract or repayment. If you already have a CDL they want experience so they don’t have to spend to much time on you. That’s what I’ve found out myself. I still don’t regret getting my CDL on my own vs a carrier school.

I personally drive for a Miller/Coors distributor. I can confirm it is a very hard and exhausting job. Miller is one of the most sold beers and the amount of cases/kegs we delivery can be overwhelming. On an average day we deliver well over 1k cases of beer which is mostly by hand. I’ve been here for about 10 months now and am definitely looking to get away from it. Hoping to land another driving job soon.

I got my CDL last August, I’ve job hopped a bit, I did what worked for me though. I worked at PFG for 4 days 3 day orientation, 1 day on the truck, I couldn’t do it! 😂 worked at Schneider three months, I liked Schneider but the pay sucked, Worked at Swift four months, better pay, best driver leader I could’ve asked for, but I wanted to get off of the road, interview for Coca Cala two weeks ago, got an on-the-spot offer for a bulk delivery driver position, I start this week.

I’m not sure if any of those companies hire class b drivers. I know some of the food service companies have straight trucks which only requires class b but the majority of their fleet are combination vehicles. The straight trucks are typically driven by class A drivers under certain circumstances.

Is there a paid training company I'm Florida so I can earn some money while training for my CDL class A license. I can't afford to not earn in the process I have no back up to take that kind of time to achieve my CDL. I am highly determined and losing time. I'm 52 and in desperate need of a career change. I've been an air-conditioning tech since 1991 and I just can't. Do attic work any longer yet I'm unable to take 2 months off from earning money to pay my bills. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Bless you and your family and keep up the great work you do.

This is gonna be hard. You'll be starting at the very bottom in the trucking industry. Your beginning pay in the first 2 yrs will NOT be equal to your pay as a HVAC. Pretty much every company wants 2 yrs exp as a minimum, with some exception here n there. If you're single, then OTR is no problem for you. If you have kids, wife, etc., then you want to be local. Maybe trash hauling or cement driver. LTL have local routes as well, like Estes, R+L, autozone, chik fil a, old dominion. But these jobs require making multiple stops, like 15-20 stops a day, unload to liftgate, then deliver to customer. If you can't handle that, then stick to any jobs where you DO NOT touch the freight at all, like OTR, containers, postal mail (light handling).

Is Florida a good state for a trucking job and is it a nice place to live?
@imanthonytv
@imanthonytv Жыл бұрын
If you live in a big city in Florida, you have a much better chance of finding a good paying trucking job. In regards to your second question, of course! Florida is a beautiful state to live in with some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. However, there are cities with higher crime rates than others in the state so it’s definitely important to do your research prior to potentially moving to the state.

how many pounds do you have to lift the heaviest to push and pull to work for these companies as a driver
@TrumpIsrael2024
@TrumpIsrael2024 3 ай бұрын
It varies depends on the product & how many products are stack on top of each other. As a food delivery or LTL delivery, you should be able to push/pull at least 150-200 lbs. If you can't, do mail delivery, OTR, intermodal, or anything where you DON'T touch the freight at all.
