I started tagging 15 years ago...6 months later i got caught when i was drunk off my ass. The gates of hell were unlocked after that so i stopped. Well im trying to come back into the scene cuz i wasnt done. I dont think it makes anyone a poser.... sometimes theres things that are gonna be a little more important that need taken care of.

I can kinda understand the gatekeeping on it becoming mainstream with apparel, I was into UK and earlier punk in the late 90s and usually the crowd had bondage trousers, leather or jean jackets with band patches sewn on. I guess in like 2013ish or some shit I used to see people when i went back to college (mind you im like late 20s) at this point who look like they'd be into some of the music I was . When you start seeing generic patches like Metallica or seeing studded belts etc it's one thing . Never called anyone out on. It but from afar genuinely thought hey I should stop and chat with them about music but noticed it was purely as fashion the way they dressed . It's like all the people wearing old school rock band tshirts now and when asked about the music they respond that they only are wearing it cuz they like the design. I see a lot of mid 90s dress style becoming popular and as someone who was a kid back then i don't get it.. the 90s style IMO looking back was just shit looking.. Since this trend is soo hot now Reebok would be stupid to not come back out with the OG pumps on the tounge that looked like a basketball. Everyone loves ALL of the early Jordans. Some of the sneaker companies could make some money but im glad Adidas still makes the shell toes, Vans still have their same shit but of these companies were smart they'd dust off their outdated 90s design plans and resurrect them while there's a market. One thing that isn't replicated is that classic mid 90s boom bap rap.

While I appreciate actually graf art, where i came from in LA a lot if it was gangs tagging to mark territory. Gotta say moving to TN im glad I hardly see any tagging/graffiti even in the shittier parts of town. I love the pieces on trains and buildings but im talking about scribing into bathroom mirrors toilet seats and shit.. Don't miss that at all.

I remember having a shirt by a DJ based company called Mixwell which was about Graffiti, MC, DJ and BBoy which is what the culture was about, i was never into graffiti but from a music perspective in my gatekeeping mind you cannot be a DJ if you don't spin vinyl, i remember earlier 2000s they came out with some what shit that pop a CD into and "digitally" scratch which was bad enough but now the term "DJ" could be anyone with a laptop and some soundboard buttons to press when changing songs". DJing and hip Hop has gotten severely dumbed down. Yo lets at least keep bboys and graffiti up to snuff
