It only happened to me recently in Pokemon Sword that a shiny wooloo appeared and I had no pokeball. The game is playing again, and that happened to me.

I too have found a shiny uncatchable starly. But it wasn’t in DP, or BDSP. It was in Platinum. I was just making my way to the next town to talk to Rowan and get pokeballs and that fucker just decided to shine on my screen. If only it had appeared like 5 minutes later I could have had a badass team member :P

Absolutely crazy how unluckily lucky you are. 14 years without a single uncatchable is crazy though! My very first shiny was an uncatchable. That's insane.

It was a Poochyena, found on the route with the rival in Alpha Sapphire, on christmas day, when I got the game, while training my Torchic to level 7, to ensure a win against the rival. It's currently one of my shiny hunting goals, to find a Poochyena on the same route, and actually catch it this time

The Mincinno, Cincinno from the introduction in black and white and the sequels that Juniper shows can be Shiny also the Black Kyurem and White Kyurem that Ghetsis throws at you also can be Shiny yet cannot be caught

Fun fact: when you get shiny Starly you're double unlucky. 1) because you can't catch it 2) because the seed which generates the shiny mon missed the starter by a bunch of frames but hit starly, so the game generates shiny starly instead of shiny starter

I've only encountered one uncatchable shiny, in Crystal. I was just starting the journey, I walked in one patch of grass, and shiny Rattata. Needless to say, I wasn't happy

Yeah imagine phasing like 7 times on an uncatchable starly *oliver73hmm*, who would do that (the way you put that with the alpha starly in the end of the video again, gave me a goog laugh)? It was incredible to see how for Starly no 6 you just started laughing instead of yelling "yes", "no" or "what" xD but for Starly no 7 you were back at it. Love the tally you had going on in the video. This was a great compilation - my favourite of the uncatchables remains Salamence.

When I rewatched all 10 reactions and parts of the vods I couldn't believe that I was actually foreshadowing the 7 Starly - on RELEASE day of BDSP 😂 Def had to include that into the vid. Unfortunately Wally doesn't keep the shiny, the first battle with him will turn his shiny normal again. Would have been really cool!
