100% does not. For some people it is a choice, a lifestyle, a addiction to a certain feeling. But at the end of every chromosome there is influence of depression. It is also genetic. Some people choose it, some people are stuck with it. Either way doesn't matter. Also chris, sober would never take his own life. I know people on the inside and I know more than others say. He didn't take his own life because of depression, but anxiety. but, you'll never understand. Just fix your ignorance. (:

I liked Pearl Jam up till Vitology. Even Vitology had to grow on me for me to like it . With that said, if they could only find that spark they once had and release something of substance rather than a generic rock album then I'd feel more optimistic about Pjs future. They do however play a wide variety of material live so no complaints there. Eddie is no spring chicken anymore and I agree he is not up to par with his peers as frontmen. I can't say he's a terrible person but he's no Lanye, Chris, Kurt, or even Scott...they all had some allure or mystique to their personas that drew you into the music. I don't usually comment, so here it goes. About a year ago, I heard this song called Hunger Strike, shown to me by a buddy. I absolutely loved it and couldn't stop listening. Months passed and I couldn't move from the power this song brought, vocally of course. Well, now because of that one moment I found new meaning in life; I have now been playing guitar for 6 months and might even possibly consider an education in music. Well the moral of the story is that no matter the circumstances, take value to what you have, and understand that you give value to other people's lives as well, just as Cornell and the other grunge legends have done for me. Thank you Mr. Cornell.

Chris Cornell passed away and this one hits hard. He is, in my eyes, one of the greatest rock artists, songwriters and vocalists of all time. His work with Soundgarden, especially, inspired many of my own creative directions in my own musical compositions. It felt like he would live on forever, and in a sense he will, but this is truly a great loss to the world of music. My kids (2 and 5 years old) love Chris Cornell and Soundgarden. Outshined may be their favorite song of all time! In fact, I sing Outshined to my 2 year old just about every night before bed. I think of going for runs while pushing them in the chariot while listening to Soundgarden on our portable speaker. 'Outshined again!' They would yell! I also think about the early 90s, when I was in grade 8 and I heard Black Hole Sun for the first time. I quickly picked up Superunknown and was quickly sucked into their blend of heavy Sabbath-like riffs, their odd time signatures and their buzarre tunings (Mind Riot requires tuning all strings to E!). It reminds me of summers mowing the lawn with my sony Walkman strapped to my shorts. It reminds me of growing up and all the different emotions that run through the mind of a teenage boy. And that is the point. The memories that were created through the creativity and expression of the art of music. I thank Chris Cornell for a lot of these memories and it really does mean a lot. One more story before I conclude. My 2 year old has a picture of Chris Cornell up in his room, along with Jimi Hendrix (my son's name is in fact Hendrix) and A Tribe Called Quest. Last night he asked me to take them down. He was having trouble getting to sleep so I followed his orders. I brought the pictures to our room and decided to put the Chris Cornell picture up on our wall. This was before I heard anything about his passing. It strikes me as one of those supremely ironic things, for it to happen on the exact day he passes. That picture had been up for at least a year and I never took it down until yesterday. I think I have no choice but to leave it on our wall. RIP Chris Cornell

I sat in a bar in the early 1990s. I was Stranded in Seattle by a company that unexpectedly folded. almost broke and 3000 miles from home. A stranger I was speaking with told me “ don’t give up hope, keep pushing on and things will always work out”. In my time of dire need a stranger brought me light. That stranger ended up being Chris Cornell.

Did you not know at the time who he was? I mean did you see him on tv when he became famous and then you remembered his face? It's a cool story and I am just curious 😊

I had no idea. Just another guy at the bar. If only I had known.

Funny I was listening to it yesterday and the lyrics are unfortunately very eerily applicable. Shit what a talent, and from what we can see, he was a really nice guy too.

I was so stoked to see SG preform tomorrow night at Rock On The Range. Not sure what's going to happen, maybe it'll be an early night. Maybe a last minute booking. Personally, I'd love to see a tribute cover set preformed by the other musicians playing this weekend. Definitely going to be a strange vibe tomorrow night, Rest In Peace thank you for the beautiful music ❤️

They did a little tribute set. Corey Taylor cane out and preformed Wish you were here and Hunger Strike acoustically. Then for about 15 minutes they played some chris Cornell songs while they displayed photos of him in his legacy. Such an emotional night

It has been said many times in many different ways, "You do not know what you have, until it is no longer here." This has been a day of true realization. Chris had such a lengthy career that I look fondly back on. I can date his songs and bands with many significant times of my life. Although I was never the biggest fan, I've always had such a heavy respect for his love of the art. Chris could bend his voice with inflection and intonation that was somehow almost above human ability. His love of all things music had no boundaries or genre, as he proved later in his career. In my mind, he will always be one of the legends that we lost too early. Im sure his departure has left the entire music community reeling. So very sad... Be now at peace with whatever demons plagued you. Thank you for your contributions to the evolution of music. You will be sorely missed. Rest in peace.
