No photo! No flash! We enjoyed this step back in time around 10 years ago. As older Canadians, it was fun watching the school field trips here complete with bored parents volunteers. Important place. Don’t miss it.

More amazing and bizarre things to visit in Rome: - The keyhole at the Kinghts of Malta - The underground caves with pure blue waters and stalactites - The Museum of the Souls of Purgatory in the neogothic church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus - Little London: a street that resembles the way London streets are - The daily firing canon on the Janiculum Hill - The Capuchin Crypt, there are bones, bones everywhere - The Mouth of Truth - The Arco of the Acetari - The Lovers Walking Path on Mount Mario, the tallest of Rome's hills - The mirror in Saint Ignatius of Loyola Church along with the illusion of the dome and the ceilings' frescoes - The Water Clock in Villa Borghese - The mechanical painting of Pieter Paul Rubens in the church of Santa Maria in Vallicella - The Coppede' neighborhood - The EUR neighborhood - The MAXXI Museum of contemporary art - The Vicus Caprarius - The Casa delle civette - The Heart of Nero (Il cuore di Nerone) in Piazza San Pietro - The Bar Canova Tadolini - The Palazzo Zuccari - The Tempietto del Bramante - The Chiostro di san cosimato - The Antica farmacia della scala - The Arco dei banchi - The Passetto del biscione - The Galleria Borromini in Palazzo Spada - The Stadio di Domiziano and the Serpens Ultor - The Statua di Pasquino - The Colonna delle piene of the Tiber River - The Home Museum of Hendrik Andersen - The Pyramid of Caius Cestius and the Protestant cimitary next to it

Thank you so much for your recommendation to walk the Appian Way on a Sunday! We took your advice and not only was the walk amazing, our taxi driver gave us a fantastic tour along the way. I cannot tell you how helpful and enriching it was to be able to speak Italian in Rome. Many of the locals, including store/museum employees, restaurant servers, and taxi drivers do not speak much English. Now I know where Roberto Benigni lives! Still waiting for his dinner invite. ;)

You're so welcome! 😊 I'm thrilled to hear you had such an amazing experience walking the Appian Way-what a treat to have your taxi driver give you a tour as well! 🛤️ It’s so true that speaking Italian can open so many doors in Rome and really enrich your trip. And how exciting that you now know where Roberto Benigni lives! Fingers crossed for that dinner invite 😉 Grazie mille for sharing your experience-it made my day! Buon viaggio for any future adventures! 🇮🇹✨

My last visit to Rome touring Castel Sant’Angelo we came to an open gate and walked the whole passetto and I realized we were the only ones on the path and the Vatican was getting closer. But thought not much of it as the Castel had just opened. Suddenly a man wearing a Suit came running asking us to please turn around. He said it was their fault for leaving the gate open. I looked up that night where we had been and was pleasantly thrilled.

Wow! One of the most spot on, informative and interesting videos about Rome. My hometown. Also, always get a guide when you visit historical sites and galleries. You can obliviously pass in front of incredible masterpieces or features without an expert guide! They can tune the information to your level of knowledge or interest, and are generally fun and entertaining. It's better to save by seeing something less but get a guide for the attractions you visit!

I really need 2study my French/Italian languages lol..Its going 2b a bit harder since many cool places have closed/disappeared since the C.V. hit the city so hard last year 😕 Have things changed a lot over there 4u as well in Italia? Also I swear U are the first person I ever heard with a British accent then switch to Italian! I shouldn’t be surprised just like here we speak English/Spanish and Spanglish too lol but over here where I’ve worked in hospitality no one has spoken like you! Hiiiii @theintrepidguide 😊 is it allowed to drive down the appian road with a vespa? I am seeing guided tours on scooters, but cant find any info online if its permitted (on own initiative and apart of pedestrian sundays 🤭) Hope you can help me out with some info, thank you in advance and great video 😍❣️

Hi, I am a Roman citizen, congratulations on your very useful and interesting guide. Allow me to suggest another unusual area to visit to add to your list, I'm talking about the E.U.R. located in the south-west area of Rome and easily reachable by underground (line B, EUR Fermi stop). I add the address of a site in Italian (but easily translatable) that describes the area.

Heyy, a Dutchie here! How lovely to hear you want to learn the Dutch langue, it’s tough but definitely worth it :)) Two things I would recommend in regards to travelling to the Netherlands: Definitely use our train system, it’s easy and pretty cheap. Secondly, please don’t only travel to Amsterdam. Other cities like The Hague, Utrecht are just as gorgeous if not prettier! Hope you will enjoy your trip! Ps. Bring a rain coat haha

You are the first interesting tour guide I've found. Are you available for a private day trip tour in March? I'm coming back...

By the way, I taught myself Italian -took 1.5 years but only spoke Italian on trip-so we can speak Italian. You must be bi-lingual Australian? I'm a linguist from Canada.

Thank you so, so much Michele for such a wonderful guided tour through my favorite city, "Rome". Your coverage was simply magnificent and extremely informative. The sights (as only you now how to capture on film) were utterly breathtaking and mesmerizingly spectacular to say the least. The result of your coverage left me speechless. You are truly gifted and I look forward to seeing more videos as they come to hand. Keep up the excellent work Bella:)
