I REALLY like how you guys not only provide the site links to all of the restaurants that you mention but also, calling out the names of the dishes in your video capture for viewers to actually see what the food dish looks like along with the name like at 4:04 A lot of vloggers never think to do this as this is really helpful to viewers 🙂

Hello! We don't have an extensive guide but I believe alot of museums and attractions are free during certain days of the month (i.e. first Sunday or last Sunday of the month) so keep an eye out for that when you research what attractions you want to visit. Eating at more local restaurants and avoiding tourist trap restaurants can save you money and ofc the food will taste better! Also there are heaps of free water fountains around Rome (old looking fountains that are always flowing with water) so bring a water bottle to take advantage of that especially considering they charge water in most restaurants which was a shock to us since tap water is free where we live. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!!! AG & Aleana 😊😊😊

Hi guys, are you sure that sourdough bread was “complimentary” at Da Enzo? It’s €2.50 per basket. A lot of people think they’re getting it complimentary because they automatically bring it out to you, but you will find that it is added to the bill! I learned that the first time going there, not that it matters, it’s still cheap anyway!

@locavore_eats2 жыл бұрын
Hello! Depends on the place tbh but for sit down restaurants we'd say around 60-80 EUR for 4 people then 30-50 for more street food/cheap eats items. I'm sure it would have changed a bit now since we went pre-COVID in 2020. (Also prices are not including drinks and cover charge so maybe add another 10-15 EUR on top of that) Hope this helps :)

a great report, except that, in Italy, the "ristorante" is a technical term, different from the "osteria" and the "trattoria" and those stand-up pizzerias and the coffee bars! so when you say the Top Ten Restaurants, you were not quite accurate. but it is still an excellent report. perhaps you can just say: top ten eating places...that's general enough.

not sure you meant "ghetto" like you thought... a jewish ghetto is something totally different
@locavore_eats2 жыл бұрын
We were referring to its historic roots being the neighbourhood where Roman Jews were confined to. What were we meant to mean by it?
@dganiteg2 жыл бұрын
@@locavore_eats well usually a jewish ghetto refers to a holocaust term, which is more like an urban prison. i'm aware that the word predates the holocaust, but for example i can tell you in berlin it's called the jewish quarter, rather then ghetto. so while i understand why you meant and yes it's possible and not all wrong to call it the ghetto, and also yes i'm aware that the jewish population used to be confined to a certain area in the city although no prisoned in it, in today's culture (which is extremely important when discussing jewish prosecution) just calling it a ghetto without giving any context might be misunderstood. in my opinion. in any case it's not a jewish ghetto today or was during the ww2 and i consider this to be an important distinction.
@Higgsboson20 Жыл бұрын
@@dganiteg Ghetto it's the proper name because the neighborhood is called like this, everyone calls it like this here in Rome. It's one of the first Jewish Ghettos in the world, established during 16th century and was home of some tragic events during ww2, when nazis deported more than 1000 people to Auschwitz. So it isn't actually a ghetto today, although still most of the people living there are jewish, but it has been for centuries and the neighborhood is still called like this by Roman people. The term is really not out of context as you said.
