The cast is what made Clue great. Like @zarc said, it was the quirkiness. You can't recreate that chemistry. I loved how it had 3 different endings
@GraceAndTruthRevolution
@GraceAndTruthRevolution Жыл бұрын
The original clue is awesome as long as you didn't go to see it in theaters. I saw the movie many years later, just like most of you probably did, and so I saw all three endings that once. First two endings that said it could have happened like this or like this, and then finally the one that says but this is how it really happened. However, people who originally saw Clue in theaters only saw one of the three endings, depending on which theater they were in, and we're then encouraged to go see the movie again in a different theater to see the real ending. It was a shameless attempt at a cash grab, and it backfired spectacularly. Clue is a cult classic now, but it bombed in theaters when it was released

@@graydenday3760 okay you're not going to lie, but are you sure you're not high? Cuz for real for real bro there's literally no chance that this remake is successful, or even any good. The original has no business being as good as it is, and that was one of those situations where all the stars lined up perfectly, a one-in-a-million chance so to speak. It's literally not possible for the remake to be any good because the original has absolutely no business being as good as it is

Movie executive seem genuinely puzzled by the decline in movie attendance. This video spells it out pretty clearly. Also, if the remake of Little Mermaid flops, like most of the Disney remakes are, people will scream "RACISM" while the general movie audience will be screaming back "REMAKE WE DIDN'T WANT." If it doesn't bring something clearly better to the table, why watch it again. We can watch the animated originals to get our nostalgia hit.

He's not wrong in that but the real problem stems not from the pillagers of past works of art but the audiences that lazily support these because it's familiar. Same reason a stellar "mom & pop" restaurant will sit empty while McDonalds rushes through mobs of customers, or craftsmen and shopkeepers go extinct while people buy up disposable "name brand" trinkets on Amazon and Walmart. We want things simple and easy. "Oh, Road House, I like that movie, I'll watch this one too." If it was an original movie about a bouncer it wouldn't have that name brand recognition. Todd Phillips spoke about this in making his gritty crime thriller her decided to make it a Joker movie because otherwise no one would fund it (at least for he budget he wanted). So, yeah, those vultures feeding off the past are frustrating, but audiences eating up this regurgitation like baby birds unwilling to seek out the unknowns are the ones perpetuating the "evil" Tolkien speaks of. In the end it's because audiences want passive entertainment - that which is already familiar and enjoyable to them - not actual art which which can often challenge and change their preconceived ideas and feelings. We all want to be entertained of course but we seem to have lost the ability (culturally speaking, not individually speaking to you) to be challenged and take risks.

That's my all-time favorite horror/comedy (sorry, Shaun of the Dead), so you might expect that I'd be upset at the prospect of someone daring to remake it -- but to be honest I'm kind of curious to see what they come up with. I can never convince anyone to give the original a watch even though it has held up perfectly well, but maybe a modern treatment will have more appeal to a younger audience? Look at all the poor remakes we got in the 90's and 2000's that didn't get well received and cannot hold a candle to the original IP, movies such as Psycho (1998), A Nightmare On Elm Street (2010), Total Recall (2012), Robocop (2014), Point Break (2015) just to mention a few, Hollywood seems so creatively bankrupt and relies on past film successes which always fail because remakes never live up to the originals and audiences know that, but it's Hollywood and they always care about the bottom dollar.

I would rather see a "Dark Disney" remake anthology. Disney stories retold from their somewhat darker origin stories. I know Disney themselves would never do that, but some other studio perhaps.

I don't mind the Disney live action remakes. I think most of them are subpar, but aside from Jungle Book, the Aladdin remake was actually really good.

I do not want a remake of the movie The killer but I have thought about if someone could remake the gunfights that although “ridiculous” they are so intense. So if I happen to see it on some streaming service I would watch it or wait till someone makes a KZbin video with side by side comparison.

@Nik Percival lol I meant yet another or continuation of that one. Would be silly to think they could reproduce that awesome rock opera feel of that one without a lot of careful work. It gives me goosebumps to watch despite the camp. That is part of its charm.

@@athemioszed2233 I was lucky enough to see it at the cinema (by myself, aged 11- how times have changed...), and even had the soundtrack on vinyl! Still watch it every couple of years or so, and if they *did* redo it, then I hope to god they give Sam J. Jones a cameo... 🙂 🍄

1. I guess nobody learned from Psycho. 2. Road House and Clue are great cheesey 80s goodness. 4. Foreign films rarely equate to good English remakes. 5. I'm sick of Disney remakes. I only tolerate them for my 8 year old daughter, but only after she sees the originals. 6. I love White Men Can't Jump. Why mess with a good thing, other than money. 7. I'm arachnophobic. Enough said. 8. Wasn't a fan of Working Girl, so I don't care.

Instead of remaking THE KILLERS, why not remake THE KILLING - one of Stanley Kubrick's first films? A heist movie where the robbers are in clown masks! How can you pass up a gimmick like that? Of course, it could be argued that POINT BREAK is already a remake of THE KILLING. But my argument stands.
