To top that, the creators of Ryan Reynold's unbeloved disasterpiece Green Lantern decided to make the main bad guy Parallax into a giant cloud, apparently with the idea: "We know how to repeat others' bad decisions just to show that we can make bad decisions."

"We are having a new Tomb Raider" ok, maybe they can make it work out this time. "Headed by Phoebe Waller Bridge" (...) GOODBYE!

Are we hating on PWB because of Indiana Jones?! Have you not seen “Fleabag”?!
@lucaskobain9 ай бұрын
@@Alexander_Stern1she was pretty bad as a lead in an established adventure franchise (granted, the whole movie was so-so at best), why would she do a good job in TR? BTW, Fleabag is in my to-see list, but I don't want any more feminist "in your face" rhetoric, so I'm kinda avoiding it. No, I don't know if it's the case, but it all points that way.

Fleabag is so much more than that. You're missing out

I’m with you. Her name is basically poison now. After her influence on Solo and Indy 5, I only see her ranking any other IPs

@@elyssadavalos4903not gonna argue that. Like I said it's still on my to-watch list. But nearly on the very last place, probably.

If the missions from Hitman movies were played on the video game, 47 would receive the rating of MASS MURDERER for most of them, which in Hitman is the equivalent of a large red F on your English test. In a properly executed Hitman mission... - Only the target dies. - Either his death appears accidental, or his body isn't found until later. - 47 uses stealth, disguises, and distraction to go unnoticed. - The overall scene is undisturbed to the end, as opposed to screams and fleeing civilians. That doesn't mean a Hitman movie can't feature the occasional blown mission that yields a high body count. But I saw both movies, and they needed more fiber wire and less two handed Silverballer blasting.

the 1st Fantastic Four movie, 1st Charlie's Angels movie, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Street Fighter are all just fun movies. Street Fighter isn't exactly good by any normal measure but it's entertaining just just for Raul Julia's scenery chewing awesomeness as Bison. The others are just overhated IMO. Also, G.I. Joe can work great as a movie....case in point, the animated 80s movie set within the run of the animated TV series. Live-Action is where the IP stumbles of course, but it CAN work

What are you talking about - the 2018 _Tomb Raider_ was great!

Now Muppet Haunted Mansion was good, which is probably why it wasn’t mentioned.

I really have to disagree and some of the comments also disagree too. Both Tomb Raider adaptations were good in their own right.
@dave21329 ай бұрын
You can stop right there. Jolie's adaptations of Tomb Raider were incredibly entertaining. The second GI Joe was entertaining and the fight scenes were well done. Pryce and Stevenson were especially great. As were the first Hitman and the fun and campy Charlie's Angels movies. This video wasn't even worth watch. I just scrubbed through to see the titles.

I don't know what you're smoking, but tone it down. Most of these movies weren't bad. Never seen the fantastic four franchise or the rebooted Charlie's angels, so can't comment there.

Angelina Jolie didn't have any problems with InCel's for some reason. I wonder why? Maybe because it didn't suck! It didn't preach either.

1938's The Adventures of Robin Hood would like to have word with you about "the IP's best live action adaptation to date."

You forgot they made a Charlie's Angels series between the two film attempts that only lasted one season because it couldn't make up its mind as to what genre it wanted to be.

Timothy Olyphant's quote on Hitman reminds me of Michael Caine's immortal quote on Jaws 3 (I think it was that one)? He said something to the effect of, "I've never seen it, but I have seen the house it built, and I can assure you it's quite lovely."

As someone who grew up on resident evil movies and only later learned, there were even games. The movies are fantastic, just not if you try to watch them expecting what you get in the game.

What a joke this is.... Critics, fans, historians and everyone in the world agrees (except for your recency bias) that THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD (1938) with Errol Flynn was the definitive and greatest Robin Hood adaptation.... Men in Tights is good, but for you to omit the fact that 80 years ago Robin Hood was done the best (and often considered one of the best swashbuckler adventure films of all time) is a travesty. Your only job is to know movies, yet you act like there has never been a good Robin Hood adaptation???
@astroturfmatador91199 ай бұрын
Street Fighter shouldn't have been on this list as it wasn't 2 different adaptions, but 1 adaption and a spinoff. Mortal Kombat should take it's place on the list.
