For Mogami class there are 3 of them already in service rn by December 2022, and the 4th ship JS Mikuma will be in service by March〜April 2023. And the other 4 (total of 8 for the first batch) are in construction.

Additional info related to type-31 frigate. It has a variant dubbed as frigate Merah Putih, built for the Indonesia navy under licence from Babcock International, UK, with a total plan of 2 ships for the first batch. The first ship is under construction at PT PAL facility in Surabaya, Indonesia, and now is entering keel laying phase.

The hunter class is a type 26 frigate modified a bit modified but. You've got the same ship twice in The one list you have the hunter class separate and near the bottom and then for the type 26 you say au can and uk are building them which yes that is true it's the same ship more or less all 3 will be slightly different due to the different needs of each country's hunter class being the heaviest we are only at this time may change but for now building 9 type 26 frigates aka the hunter class

Looking forward to the Type 26 Variants. There being customized/custom built by different nations with different options. Canadas type 26 is billions over budget, suppose to have every type of ship missile in a large quantity, along with torpedoes, air defense, missile defense, anti submarine warfare, electronic warfare/cyber, radar, special ops equipment. Canada is building its as a heavily armed highly advanced multirole Frigate. Due to lack of sailors instead of building few different ships there building insane multi role do it all ships. Which isnt the smartest idea but will make for a monumental deadly ship

Current budget for Type 26 from Canada is now 5.6Busd per ships more then the UK aircraft carrier. Complete nonsense , after they cry they have no money for the navy ... with the total Budget now close to 86 B usd they could have build 85 FREMM proven design . There is almost no consideration in ship classes by tonnage. Multi purpose vessels are the way to go nowadays. The MKS may be bigger than most frigates, but by its role it's rather that than something like a destroyer.

Well, there is no hard rule and destroyers started as rather small torpedo destroyers themselves. Back then, the Washington treaty organized the ships into specific classes, but that broke down in the 1930s already. In fact, you could define a small rubber dingy a "Battleship". People probably won't take that too serious, but nothing stops you from doing so, putting it into the navy register. 🤺😉

Right. What I miss in the top 10 is the dutch LCF class. A number of ships are now equipped with APAR block 2 integration and SMART-L EWC in combination with an upgrade to ESSM Block 2. This SSMART-L EWC radar is able to look 2500 km away and also look high up at satellites. This APAR radar is currently the best radar you can get. As it now looks like, the LCF ships will also be equipped with SM3 missiles.
