The silicon brushes can often be found in Aldi or Lidl when they have craft stuff in store. They can also come in handy for cake decorating! Nail art dot tools are handy for paper scoring.You can even use nail gels in card making! Also, for those with an iPad - there are many good drawing/design apps that are relatively cheap or even free.

This made me realize I needed a pencil extender. Majority of my colored pencils are scraps of older sets (my classmates broke them) so many of them are still useful but too small for me to hold. Or i can just get a straw or boba straw and shove the pencil in it and secure it with something.

Hi, that was a helpful video. I bought a TGAAL sharpener and it is fantastic! I saw on another video a tip re sharpening pencils that I thought I’d share with you. They actually recommended instead of normally sharpening a pencil by rotating the pencil, to leave the pencil still and rotate the sharpener around the pencil as they said it protected the core of the pencil from being broken a lot more than sharpening pencils the traditional way by rotating the pencils. I haven’t worked much with pencils yet except for a couple of plain graphites but the times that I did sharpen any pencil using this alternate method, I haven’t had any of the cores in the pencils breaking in me yet. Anyway, I just thought you might like to hear other ways of doing something, as I do like that myself because I’m curious by nature and like to carry out experiments with everything I do generally 😃

One fun thing about tortillons and kneadable erasers is that once they get really dirty, you can use them as drawing tools! As for the eraser pencil, I’m not a big fan of those because, as you said, they don’t erase very well, but I also find the eraser rather rough and it can damage or discolor paper. I use General’s Factis mechanical eraser (formerly known as the Paper Mate Tuff Stuff eraser), and it’s MAGNIFICENT. You can erase very fine details, and they last for a long time before you need to buy refills.

Are the sponge daubers easy to clean? About how long do they last before you have to replace them? Another great thing about kneadable erasers and paper stumps is that once they get really dirty, you can actually draw with them! Have you ever tried chamois? Also great for softening and lightening graphite marks (or for drawing with once it gets filthy)...since it is an animal product though, some people shy away from using it. Finally...General makes a eraser pencil that’s sort of a clicky, mechanical-pencil style (only with a long skinny tube of eraser rubber inside instead of lead), and I find that it erases much better than the Faber-Castell eraser pencil. It’s called the “Factis Mechanical Eraser”, and I love mine! Been using it for more than 10 years now, and the rubber inside lasts a surprisingly long time (but buying refills is still a good idea, LOL). It’s also great for traveling with, because you can retract the eraser back into the barrel, and it won’t get dingy inside your pencil pouch.

I just bought a Tombow eraser a couple of weeks back or so. It's wonderful in bringing out tiny highlights in graphite. I also bought some time ago a Faber-Castell double eraser pencil. The white side erases graphite, and the pink side erases colored pencil (to a degree) and ink. I really like this pencil eraser because it can be sharpened to a fine point for bringing out highlights like the Tombow eraser does. I also have a mechanical pencil type of eraser that is about as big as an average female's pinky. That's very handy, too. Of course the kneaded eraser is spectacular and so is a black eraser for charcoal.

I always use a thick straw to extend my pencils. Symply cut a little gap with scissors in them and put them on your pencils.
@WindyIris6 жыл бұрын
That's a cool trick. How long does the straw last? I can't imagine it would be very heavy duty for long coloring sessions:)
@linn696 жыл бұрын
@@WindyIris well it depends on how how press down. But as always you switch with pressure . So the straw gets weaken up a bit. I then take normal tape (or duck tape) to increase the stability of the straw. But I figured that if you cut the straw just a bit it gets stronger too. With all that duck tape the pencil really looks messy but I figured that it works just as well. :)
