Do you ever wonder which art supplies you should try? Well I have been doing art for a few years now and as I am continuing to experiment, I wanted to give you guys a look at ALL the mediums and supplies I currently love to use! From pencils to erasers to paper to paint, I talk about the essentials that I found the most useful to me as an artist. I also show you some demos and tutorials and include tips on how I use these supplies too! And to make it even more interesting, I share my finished artwork that I created using all the mediums that I mention. I hope you find this video helpful and satisfying to watch!

This. I was wondering why my art never popped like I wanted it to. I bought nicer and nicer pencils, I used a ton of different blending and outlining methods... and then once I learned those and THEN got some toned grey and tan paper... it just took my art to the level I wanted it to.

Ugh I love this. I'm headed to art school in the fall so having some suggestions for relatively inexpensive but effective art supplies is really helpful. Also, just as a writing pen, the Pentel Slicci is like my favorite pen ive ever used.

@Drawing with Mariyam It doesnt matter. Be consistent, never quit, be better than yourself every next day, and u will get to the moment when u can afford everything! But if u don't know how to use it, it doesnt matter u can afford it. So, do ur thing with what u got, and never quit trying 💪😊💓

Thanks girls @Drawing with Mariyam & @Jess Karp , I'm happy I made U feel better about yourselves. I'm also an artist, graduated one, but also a mother of 3 yrs old lil grl. Single mum... I survived narcissistic abuse of every kind (emotional, sexual, fisical.. with my just born baby at the time) from her "father", and luckily for both of us, we succeded to run one night from him- me- with broken ribs & closed eye, wearing my lil one with inflamated lungs... and with anything else in my hands but our bare lives! 36 yrs old I left at "his" place 18 years of my artistic life, and 36 yrs of all of my other stuff- wearings, possesions, memories... So, I had to work hard just to fullfill our basic needs (for appartment, bills, food, new clothes, someone to take care of her while i was working 10-12 hrs a day for more than first 12 mnths, and at the moment I cannot afford anything fancy neither, actually I'm happy if I have enough strength at the end of the day to stay awake to draw something with some cheap pencils, watercolors or whatever I got.. but I know that what I got inside is more than everything he took and never will give back to me. But, in order to stay normal and not lose my brain and calmness which I need for my daughter, I had to let go of everything...And knowing all of that- for me- it was enough to have will not to stop trying. U must have priorities in life (mine is my daughters well being and of course, my art, but one thing a day at a time 😊 ), and in my 38 now, I trully believe tthat there is still a time, for all! I have to believe! U have to believe it too! So, just believe U can, and U will eventually !!! 💓💓 Take cars girls. I wish U a lot of good luck and good circumstances on your artistic development path, cause it is very important to have in addition to perseverance. hi! such a great post, so helpful with all the stuff that is out there! Question: which polamino blackwing pencil do you use? on your video it is a black pencil and on the pencil itself it just says polamino blackwing, but in your link it shows a grey blackwing pencil 602, the black version says matte.. on another website it says the black one is 6b.. is that what you have? I am confused which one to buy 🤔 (I have to ship them from US, and can only buy them in 12, so want to be sure)

I've seen 3 of her sketchbook tours, and eachone I want to get that brand of book. Now she's got a Davenport too. I wondered about all of those. I've got a block of Arches and I'm trying to learn watercolor, but a smaller actual sketchbook would be nice. I hear 100% watercolor paper is the best and I'm not sure one exists in book form. But what is the spiral bound book you use to show some products in, it's not bound all the way but some spirals at both ends?

By far the best art supply video I’ve seen. I’ve used a chunk of those supplies and I’ll be trying out some of the new stuff. If anyone complains about using ballpoint pens for ink drawings, I’ll show them this. Bic is my favorite pen and I always keep a bunch on hand. Edit: I bought some Palomino Blackwings while on sale. I really like the texture of the lead. It's easier to control.

I just found this and wanted to mention, that the gouache is not called "Pchminke", it's an S, so Schminke. It's a german brand and it's pretty normal to have these here in germany, at least when you're doing arts. Their watercolors are extremely popular here, because it's not too expensive and pretty good quality. I love them :D Faber Castell is also a german brand. We grow up with pencils and pencil sharpeners etc. from faber castell :3

I simply adore how organized your materials are!! I hope to be able to do thay as well. Also - I have the Palomino Pearl pencil... I loved how it drew until I found that it wouldn't erase nicely with my white eraser. The Staedler eraser normally kicks butt at its job. Am I just "eraser challenged"? Not sure if you knew but the black Pentel P225 comes in .7 and .9 Staples online might have it. I love the barrel so I have all three. The .7 is blue and the .9 is yellow. You should get the whole set.

Real life is actually the best. Take your phone or cam and go for a walk in a bright place like a park and start snapping photos. If you have more time, sit down and draw/paint while at a park. Your art will look more alive than drawing from reference photos.

Faber Castell 9000 and Mitsubishi hi-UNI,are by far the best quality and performance wooden pencils. Staedtler is noticeably lower and Kohinoor even more. The only Kohinoor graghite I'd suggest,is their 2b/4b 5.6mm used with either their 5340 or 5347 pencil,for training doing fast sketches,on your sketchbook. For drawing high quality like hyperealistic etc,Faber Castell is the proper and best choice. For non hyperealistic portraits,Staedtler is a faster pencil,but that's it's only advantage,compared to Faber Castell 9000.

Octavian Popa, to her, it’s a sketch because she has designated finished illustrations. Sketches tend to take less time, so those paintings were probably quick ideas she wanted to get down on paper. The finished illustrations were going to be finished from the beginning. I hope this helps!

Me personally, I love myself a good Ohuhu sketbook. They are pretty affordable and have beautiful thick paper. I buy the square one (8.3x 8.3). I like the weight of it and the texture of the cover. Really good for traveling. I surely do recommend. Watch some videos about it. I will be posting a review on one in about a month to a few weeks. That's when I'd be getting a new one. Sorry this is so late for this specific video 😅
