The WORST exploits are from multiplayer games. In a singleplayer game I can restraint myself from using exploits if I want...and cheating when you're alone is not really a big deal. But in a multiplayer games you can't restraint other people from using exploits... you have to deal with it or wait until a patch fixes it.

Samuel That was mostly restricted to the Mobile port. Sometimes the doors wouldn't spawn, in fact on my most recent map it happened. It didn't really do much in the way of "exploits" because you'd just get your ass kicked in there and nothing of note dropped from the enemies.

Single player exploits can also be some of the best exploits, especially in RPGs where they can reduce the grind and get you to not having to worry about if you have leveled enough (though the Helgen exploit mentioned is the worst because it only levels up one or two (four if you use it to its fullest extent) stats, getting you to tougher enemies without the well-rounded skills required to face them).

Shit the bullet thing wasn't shit. The glitch with selling a building like a clothing store stand without selling it but actually copying it was a lot worse then bullets. Copying materials and building a bunch of bullet factory machines and adding in a ridiculous amount of materials into each machine to make the bullets didn't help with braking the game as well but fuck I never needed to worry about caps or ammo. Do to the amount of caps I never had to worry about stempacks either. A had several thousands of them.

My favorite online exploit: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy The saber combat in that game was amazing. A saber passing through you during an attack did damage. If it somehow passed through you more than once, it would do damage more than once. Using a double bladed lightsaber gave you access to a jumpy spinny special attack (Darth Maul used this in the climax of episode 1). It already did a lot of damage, but there was a way to make it even more effective. By turning your look sensitivity to the maximum, you could make the spinny attack even spinnier, causing the saber to pass through your enemy many times. This attack, when applied correctly, was absolutely devastating.

I made daggers and bows that could one shot anything, armor that would give me billions of health, etc. I had way, WAY more fun godmode-ing around the game than I did playing 'fairly'. It didn't deplete my fun, and it was affecting literally no one else. Is that wrong in your eyes?

The Skyrim Speach skill to level 100 exploit. There was an NPC that if you talked to him in a certain manner, it would create a loop and that you could just spam the talk button and get your Speach to level 100 in like 10 minutes, which was awesome, because then all vendors had loads more money, items, and you could sell anything to anyone.

I always use the elf in the meatery you just need your speech at level 25 to start it and you can max it out pretty fast and it still works most exploits on Skyrim have never been patched

Sneak level 100 and mastered several times. One character I made took me multiple days to level up to 254 so I had enough points to place in every perk slot in every skill. After that I went to Dawnstar and started looting the invisible chess while the kajit caravan was there, sold what I could and would reset the chess easily. Just walked up to the caravan merchant looked at her and repeated the wait feature 3 times at 24 hours wait then checked her sell inventory which would rest the chess. Money became no problem. Nor did crafting material or potions.

Thankfully for Xbox 1 and PS4 they decreased the loading time but it's still slower than waiting a couple days. Also I wait 3 days. I know her stuff is suppose to reset every 2 days but Ive had problems where it's taken 3 so I just wait 3 at the least now.

There was an exploit in Star wars battlefront multiplayer where on a specific map (I don't remember which) you could crouch through a small piece of mountain texture and be underneath the map, you could then shoot the enemy from this vantage point, the worst part is that it was next to the enemy spawn point & it's actually something I discovered myself by accident within the first few days of release, I only ever did it twice and I never told anyone about it because it was extremely obscure and a very specific location... I didn't want to contribute to people effectively cheating to win.

Mostly for speed runs. Many games like fallout or even Mario 64 has glitches where you can beat the game in less then an hour. Making speed runs pointless if you don't make use of these glitches

In fact, Super Mario 64's most popular categories are 70 star and 120 star, both of which forbid using the major developer oversight, the Backwards Long Jump

Also it's not too bad of an exploit? At that point in the game at best you're able to grind one-handed and destruction magic (maybe Conjuration if you start as I think Wood Elf? But Conjuration has an easier exploit) and maybe Archery and Two-handed if you progress far enough. Like sure that's levelling 2-4 skills for 'free' but they're also some of the easiest skills to level by playing the game without the exploit.

or in Fable 3 you could do this cheat where you gave all your gold to another player [ or if you had another controller you could make a new character with a dummy profile ] as a gift, reject the gift as the second player, leave the game and then come back. and since the game didn't save the gold should still be there and you can reject the gold as many times as you want to get a shit tone of gold. at least that's how i remember how it went.

@August Martin Well said. There is no pont in it. It affects no one but the gamer choosing to use said exploit. If you don't want to use the exploit, don't. But a lot of gamers like to use them for fun, and/or to avoid mindless grinding. It doesn't "break" the game as so many would like to argue.

My fave exploit for a long time was in elder scrolls 3 morrowind. In the courtyard of the entry building at the beginning of the game you can jump through the wall in a corner and roam the game map. By doing this you were seen as not fully started. Murders, theft everything can be done without any rule breaking and a slap on the wrist. Only issue was you could not save. This could then be fixed by going back to the starter building and finishing the entry stuff.

In the Witcher 3, if you went to Novigrad. You could by seashells from a merchant for like 5 gold and then deconstruct them into pearls and then see the pearls for a few thousand gold. Easiest way to make money in that game until they patched it.

In Rust, a hardcore multiplayer survival base building game, there was the code raid exploit which allowed you to go through any locked doors of anyones base by typing 0000 then clear really quickly into the code lock, it was so game breaking they had to wipe the servers 5 days early, considering some people had spent hours upon hours building and farming the materials for their bases, only to have them taken in minutes, there was outrage.

In Fallout 4 you can get unlimited caps by getting to Honest Dan and doing his mission and DO NOT kill the girl DO NOT FINISH THE QUEST and talk to Honest Dan when you get the money look away then walk away trigger speech again and he will give you more money because you started the conversation over again save EVERY TIME

In WoW, I remember encountering someone using 2 exploits in one round of Warsong Gulch. I think it was during vanilla, but this player left the starting area before the fight began, and then took our flag and hid underground where none of us could hit him. We eventually got him out of hiding by dropping their flag in their graveyard. Once he came topside I killed him and returned our flag, then took the horde flag back to base. The horde team overall sucked beyond measure, so keeping 4 players in our flag room for insurance while 5 players camped their graveyard, and 1 player ran the flag for the 3-0 win.

In WoW during MoP expac there was a chest in an underwater ship wreck that dropped 200 gold and instant respawned. So if you got a click bot and could breath underwater (which isnt hard) then you could have infinite gold in the biggest MMO. Which now still pays for my monthly subscription haha

There were four broken ass exploits on Siege a while back. When the game first launched, as a defender you could just rip down a window & look for the attackers during the preparation phase and kill them while they weren't able to do anything. They fixed this by forcing the attackers to spawn after the preparation phase, however this leads us to our second exploit. The barrier that kept defenders from going outside wasn't great so you could clip right through; run to their spawn, & kill them as they appeared. The third was if you repelled as you fell off a ledge it would lock your vertical coordinates allowing you to float if you were to climb a ladder or walk off another ledge. The most popular map to do this on was house, even though I've gotten to work on other maps playing custom games with friends. Last but not least, the fourth exploit. If you broke a piece of a destroyable object & threw a Valkyrie cam on said piece, the whole object would get destroyed & still render as an object for most other people. This allowed ridiculous hiding spots & a massive advantage for spawn peekers since it worked on barricades too. Thank fully these have all been patched.

My favorite dates back to Oblivion. In the first section, you could crouch into a shadowy section of wall near some enemies, wrap a rubber band around your controller so you kept moving, and switch back to regular tv. You'd have to check on it every couple hours to accept your level up, but you'd get your sneak to max before even entering the actual world. You even had the opportunity to change your character before leaving, so if you saved beforehand, you could create any character with max sneak without redoing the exploit. Sneak was also pretty broken in that game because with it maxed, you could sneak up to people from the front in broad daylight as pickpocket them successfully.

The vendor chest is not a glitch. It's a game mechanic. The Chest is the container (Inventory) from the vendor to prevent killing or stealing from NPC's to get everything in the shop and "normally" the chest is under ground level where the Player can't reach it but a few are misplaced (Creative Kit for more informations)

I don't agree with the Fallout and the Skyrim ones, I think the devs are jerks for patching those exploits out. Those are single player only games, if you want to play the game straight then play the game straight, you want to have fun and not worry about money then do that. It is your play experience that you are effecting, nothing else, you aren't screwing anyone over, you aren't hindering the play of someone else. All I ever did was just get all gold in the flight school and just use the hunter to run vigilante till I got all the money I wanted. The mission only ended when I wanted it to, since its impossible to fail vigilante with the hunter. It just goes on forever and each completed level rewarded more money than the last. You could get up to where a single level awarded hundreds of thousands a pop for a few seconds of work. The longest I gotten was where the levels were awarding 200,000+ each time but I ended up dieing from boredom and just cancelled the mission after that cause I had like 26 million or so at that point. Funny thing is that its not even an exploit in the truest meaning of the word. Rockstar chose to let you do Vigilante in the Hunter and it was them who chose to not make the mission end once a certain level was reached. Guess they figured you would inevitably run out of time at one point or another and Vigilante would end that way. Guess they never realized the feedback loop they overlooked when they did not take the Hunter into account and how quickly players can complete a level with it. Instead of progressively losing time as the mission continued, you instead were gaining more and more time with each level completed.

I remember in RE5 if you went into split screen mode with a 2nd dummy account, you could hand your entire inventory to the dummy account and disconnect from your main account without saving. The dummy account would still be connected, log back in with your main and all your loot still in your possession. Then transfer the dummy loot to your main and save which would duplicate everything. Repeat this process over and over, buy all the guns/ammo and run through resident evil with that minigun backpack thing.

In battleblock theatre the final level had a column through the map which leads to the end. You have to complete areas of the map to make a platform and scale the column so you can’t just go straight up. space engineers infinite tires. how building works is that you place down a steel framework of say, a jump drive (the most expensive block in the game) and then you weld all the stuff it requires to it, like motors, steel plates, construction components, etc. if you built a "wheel suspension" a tire would automatically spawn on the suspension, without you needing to build it. In the game East Shade there's an exploit where you can brew unlimited mystery brew teas without using a single item in your inventory. 1. Buy a kettle in the Nava market from the Blacksmith for 20 Glowstones. 2. Make a campfire (The Park Ranger's hut has a book about making one) 3. Click on kettle symbol on the fire 4. Move over to the 'brew' button with the joystick. 5. Click the A button as much as you need. You now got a Mystery Blend without using any of the ingredients in your bag. 6. Another one from Skyrim I used alot: Do the quest for Hermaeus Mora to get a book called the Oghma Infinium that increases 5 of your skills by 5 levels each but could only be used once. Take the book to any bookcase in a house that you own. Activate the bookcase and read the book from the menu that comes up and immediately put the book on the bookcase. That stops the book from disappearing so you can just take the book off the bookcase, reread it, put it back on the bookcase and so on over and over until you max out all of your skills. Bethesda patched that glitch but when it was working I did it on most of my saves.

You should have done the Engineer exploit in Team Fortress 2 where you can put sentries in walls.

M Fagan I do believe that was on that Egyptian map, no? I remember having about 3/2 Engies up there with their dispensers and laser-pointer manual sentry controller (it's been a long time since I last played TF2) Though even with that, the attacking side still managed to overtake us and win, so I wouldn't say it's that bad of an exploit since it is beatable and it's been around so long that's it kinda accepted.

+psycho! ! Unfortunately, it is indeed on PC. It's not uncommon to see a new exploit to get inside walls or outside the map pop up here and there. Of course, most of them have been fixed but some still remain. Search for Delfy on youtube, he has a lot of videos showing exploits to get outside of the maps and glitchy spots.

There have been various areas in multiple TF2 maps that have allowed people to be just outside the map and kill people while remaining both hiding and entirely protected by the walls. The most prolific and recent major map exploit was with the carnival of carnage where you were able to place a sentry under the giant fortune teller booth, which is the main area of combat for that map, especially with the occasional forced mass teleport and taunt on several Halloween maps, during which sentrys could slaughter whole teams if placed near the area of dancing. A few other exploits that TF2 has experienced are infinite healing, über charge, crits, and minigun mini-crits with the buffalo steak sandvich. It typically requires an engi to take advantage of the map exploits, as the teleporter is what is used to build just past the "walls" of the map, the dispenser to get higher than when jumping alone, or the wrangler to sentry jump above the "walls". The main cause of these map exploits is map creators taking shortcuts while creating and making sure the "walls" don't have holes to get the map done faster, all the while there are obvious and non exploitive spots where you should be able to place buildings but can't because the map creator didn't take the time to "paint" the area for it.

Money isn't hard to get in Fallout 4. When I played through the game, I never had any money problems pretty much at all, and I wasn't even aware that the bug existed.

The thing is that it could make Trophies or Achievements easy to get. If you want Caps, mods are the way to go on all platforms. Or cheat engine on PC, that always works.

In an old game called Rage of Mages 2 there was a multiplayer exploit, and the same exploit actually exists in Champions: Return To Arms and Dark Alliance 2. If a multiplayer game (any really) allows you to alt-ctrl-delete (or any equivalent no-save exit) out of the game without it saving... I don't even need to finish this sentence but here is how it goes. 1) Player A gives Player B an item. 2) Player A quits without it saving. 3) Player A returns and Player B gives them the item back. Now Player A has two of the item. Player A saves their character. 4) Repeat the whole process until said item is multiplied 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x, 64x, and so forth. I used this in an awful lot of older games that didn't have crash-saving.

Prey currently has a pretty bad resource duplication glitch in it. Allows for unlimited crafting of most items in the game: ammo, weapons, level up items, etc.

Honestly I've never understood why companies patch out money exploits and the like in single player games. If someone wants to play the game on easy mode it doesn't effect MY experience when I play.

i don't see a problem with using glitches in single player games that do not effect other players, and online games such as Destiny doing things like Farming, i don't see a problem with this either (though most companies patch these farming methods because they don't like it). though not on online games, using glitches that effect other players in games such as Call of Duty and other competitive games to adjust your level and unlocks or K/D and stats.

Legend of Zelda;OoT. The Hyrule castle area golden skulltula. Blow the ground open in by the Sheika Stone. Drop down, throw your boomerang at the skulltula down there. Backflip and land on the warp our circle as you catch your rang. You'll get credit for the spider and the spider will respawn. Rinse and repeat.

Omg it's cheating for single player games. It's ruining the fun! Then don't do it >.>. Multi player games sure, fix them, but if someone finds something on a single player game that you actively have to do it, well that's their decision. It's one of the reasons I never liked the Skyrim Unofficial Patch. Don't patch the damn Restoration glitch. Some builds need that stuff and the builds are fun. What's that? There's a way to get into a building to get a cool sword? We'll remove some barrels so you can't get it. Who cares!

It's not really meant to be played that way. Exploits in single player games are usually illegitimate ways to gain stuff easier and faster. It's taken out so that people will do what they should rather than what is easier and wasn't intended in the first place.

In one of the Lego Harry Potter games on PS3, there is one bench in a specific courtyard that we have dubbed "the fountain of coins". With whatever character you are playing, hit the bench, then while it is up in the air hit it again and it showers coins for you. The bench immediately respawns and you can hit it again right away. There seems to be no end to this fountain, so once you can get to the courtyard where it is located, your money troubles in game are at an end.

In mw3 (modern warfare 3) if you had two people in split screen playing infected you could get one person infected and have them stand in a doorway to the entrance to a room with only one entrance. And their teammates couldn’t kill them and they couldn’t kill you unless you were to close to them since they only had knives and throwing knives. This worked only in a few spots and on a few maps but I see people do it all the time such as on terminal, mission and barkara (misspelled probably) but you could kill them since you had a gun and can shoot legitimately through thin objects such as some walls and doors. And in those spots it’s was impossible to kill you even though they had throwing knives because they couldn’t see you at all. Idk there’s videos out there probably showing the exploitation better than I can describe it.

So I have a little story about GTA Online on the PC. So when it first came out, I joined this like biker gang role play group, wayyyyyy before the bikers DLC. So there was a guy in the group who had a mod menu or trainer or whatever the fuck you call it. There were about 19 of us in the group, so what we would do is go on the rooftop of a building near the strip club and turn on passive mode. He would stand on a ledge and shoot the ground with an infinite ammo mini gun, but the thing was every bullet he shot would spawn a bag of 40 thousand dollars. So we all got like 40 million in an hour of running in circles on the roof. We then proceeded to buy 2 apartments with 10 car garages, fill them up with completely gold Zentornos and then when Rockstar came and patched it and took our remaining money, we just gradually sold the cars. That's why I have all the business, best clubhouse, best yatch, and don't play GTA Online anymore.... I've already won.
