The pistol being the best weapon in halo CE was the best thing to happen to halo. Everyone started with a weapon that required the most skill to use.

Considering you fight hunters quite a few times in the game, pistols are really the best reliable weapon to take them down considering the weak spots are so small. Best to take a couple accurate shots to the back or neck rather than waste a full clip of the assault rifle trying to kill them.

The Mass Effect one kinda has a wrench in that Earthborn is only one starting choice, while Shepard living in Vancouver in ME3 is a result of narrative circumstance around grounding them after blowing up the Batarian relay. The fact that even the spacer background uses the Vancouver line is a point towards this.

@@lnsflare1 No I think Futaba was the only member of the Phantom Thieves confirmed to have Autism she's basically on the end of the spectrum to where she can function like a normal person but has at times real awkward social cues which has led to her to mostly preferring to staying indoors, and being a typical teenage otaku. Which I can totally relate to since I'm also on that end of the Autism Spectrum.

In Halo if you used the sniper rifle to spot a player then swap to the pistol and not move and fired you got the kill. It was an awesome hack in multiplayer as it never showed the muzzle flash from the pistol so you stayed hidden.

A slight correction on the Ermac one: it was actually started when it was noticed that the audit menu for MK 1 had a listing for 'Ermacs' right underneath the listing for 'Reptile Battles' leading fans to assume that the grouping meant there was another secret character called Ermac. Ed Boon later confirmed Ermac did in fact stand for 'Error Macro' and the listing was was simply a macro created to catch coding errors/traps.

Gandhi's stat didn't "default into the max". What mustve happened was that his stat was stored in an unsigned integer, and when you subtract from zero, you get an integer overflow as its unsigned. -1 is always the largest value of an unsigned integer.

A more accurate description of Ghandi's notorious aggression is that when the first game tried to decrease it by 2 points (from an initial score of 1), it 'wrapped around' to the maximum value -- like when the minutehand on a clock goes from :59 to :00, _but in reverse._

Never heard anyone complain about the pistol, it's only ever been a positive as far as I've known, regardless of it being intentional or not. But some people complain about anything so I'm not entirely surprised to hear that here

Ermac wasn't a Sub-Zero glitch, he was a Reptile glitch. In the first MK, Reptile had the moves of both Sub-Zero and Scorpion. Ermac had the same moves. I've never triggered the glitch but I'd like to. :-)

FF VI was my first FF game (It was called FF3 on the SNES back then) and remains my favorite in terms of story. For gameplay FF IX is my favorite but it comes close to VI for the story as well as FF V. I loved FF VII but it never grabbed me like it did so many others. If anything, I'd love to see VI given the remake treatment.

The Ghandi integer overflow to max aggression is a myth debunked by Sid Meier himself. They actually still don't know why it happened in the original game.

Comander shepherd being Canadian actually doesn't make sense. If the player chose Colonist then comander shepherd would have been born on the human colony of Mindour and if spacer was chosen as a backstory then comander Shepherd's parents would have been part of the Alliance military and he/she would have been born and raised on various ships. And if u chose Earthborn then in mass effect 2 in the mission Priority: Eden Prime comander shepherd would mention that the city he was born is was run down and dirty. Its clear that during the events of ME1 and ME2 that Shepherd lived on the Normandy so a more likely scenario is that Comander Shepherd moved to Vancouver after the events of ME2

Apparently some fan theories are local. Every arcade I want to on every side of town in Cols, Oh people would talk about how there was some secret way to use Striker's gun in MK3 (or was it ultimate?). I told them how ridiculous that was because it's so easy to trigger special moves on accident and everyone would've eventually seen it. Of course I was the odd man out who didn't know what he was talking about.

I think a great fan theory ,before confirmed by the end of the game, is that u aren't actually big boss when playing metal gear solid 5 and it ended up being true. There are tons of KZbin videos of people theories of being a body double before tha game was released and it isn't confirmed until the very end of the game. But if u pay attention, there are tons and tons of clues that u are playing a double.
