There's nothing like a home cooked meal with a fresh loaf of bread. You gave excellent tips. I'm glad to see more young people returning to the basic of life, growing their own food, making their clothes, connecting with nature, like you do 💕

I agree! 🙂 Thank you for your nice comment. More and more people of my generation are interested in that kind of lifestyle and I think that's great! 💕

I imagine all the good smells in your house, and kitchen in particular ...makes me feel grateful for all that is offered by nature. Lovely friends that are the turtle and cat. All that sweetness, as always ...thank you for that dear Iris 💛💛💛

Haha, yes the turtle was very sweet. Came in the morning, stayed all day and left in the evening. 🥰 I always love a beautiful smelling kitchen, it feels so cozy! Thank you for your nice comment, dear! 💕

Dear Iris, what an instructive, beautiful video! I have the feeling that especially preserving food and mending clothes are almost completely forgotten, because everything is available in abundance, fruit is imported from faraway countries, and the fast fashion industry supplies us cheaply with everything (we think) we need. I find it really very inspiring that you still make and create so much yourself, and hold these "vintage skills" in such honor 🤗❤️ have a nice day!

That's really nice of you, Nessa! Thank you! It's a pity that all these skills tend to be forgotten, but there's many people nowadays that seem to be interested in getting connected with 'old ways' of living so that's great. Have a lovely week, dear! 🥰

Hi Iris, these are the tried & true ways. In an overwhelming, over-simulated world with a seven-second attention span getting back to simple ways is the way for sure. Simple and true. Thank you, Iris for sharing and reminder. xo

I'm glad you think so, Marisa! I know that not everyone is interested in this lifestyle, but I hope to motivate the ones that want to try it, but feel hesitant because of the challenges. Sending hugs, dear! 💕

I recently became the owner of a small garden and finally have the opportunity to grow plants. My garden is quite small, but I have already tried to grow tomatoes, zucchini, radishes and herbs. Watching how a large plant grows from a small seed is something incredible.

For some time I've been watching your videos, loving each one and will soon be starting a Playlist, so I have a splendid record to love and to share. Wherever my warship moored, I'd take shore leave straight to my friend whose taverna and family in Kos remains very much part of my life. 💛 I'd love you to share a recipe for slow cooked Gigantes plaki. Thank you so much for all you have given. *Hugs* and best wishes, Wendi 🌻

Simple and easy to follow steps, although not so easy to really do them and "master" them. Nontheless something for really everyone to do in their range of possibilities. Inspiring. Thank you. - - - And not an overproduced youtube video that lets one think if the content creator does nothing else in life - like really living in some traditional way - but videos. ;)

Thank you! I'm glad you see it that way. I am not perfect at all that either. I'm just looking for inspiration and trying to gradually learn new skills. And I like to share this journey with anyone that might be feeling the same way. ❤️

Can you share the tools you used to cook and bake and where it may be possible to purchase manual cooking tools? Great video.
@quaintlittlehome Жыл бұрын
Most of what I use in this video is gifted to me by family members or purchased by local shops with greek traditional products. So I can't help you with these particular ones, unfortunately. I do know, though, that you can find a good quality dutch oven online (Amazon, for instance) and many other cooking and baking products on Etsy and on local stores. Also, if you have access to thrift stores, I would highly recommend that you take a look there. I hope that helps! I'm happy you liked my video!
