How refreshing to hear a young woman to not downplay the inportance of homemaking skills. When I was younger I thought because I grew up seeing my mom cook I would magically know how to. Wrong! 😄 God bless you.🙏

Homemaking is important, the problem is that the burden of learning it is only put on women, so obviously women not wanting only be associated with it will rebel. I love homemaking, so do my brothers and I’m sure their future partners will appreciate not having to do all the work.

I’m glad young women are still seeing the blessing on homemaking but remember ladies become your own women before coming someone’s wife or mother. Not just saying career but know yourself, love yourself, and experience true happiness with yourself alone first ❤️

There’s so much gratification that comes from serving people. It’s like giving someone tangible love. My husband says that since we got married he’s been eating better than he ever had before, and I’m so tickled whenever he says that. Even as a child, if one of my siblings asked me to get them something to eat or drink, I was always so happy that I had the chance to serve them. 🥰

These are such important skills that many women don’t know because they don’t have a proper homemaker to emulate. It is considered “old-fashioned” and oppresive to be a homemaker in this day and age but I believe it is the most important work there is. The home is the heart of a community and imagine what the heart looks like if the home maker is absent. I think our current state of society is a reflection of women abandoning their traditional roles.

Oh, that always makes me sad to hear that, although I have heard it so many times! I am so sorry. I find it funny that we as a culture want to support women going into any role or career or pursuing of their dreams, until, they dare mention becoming a mother and tending mainly to their own children. :( ❤️

Just came across this video from a YT recommendation. Just subscribed! I'm married, no kids and a homemaker. It started out as I quit my job due to illness but thank God I recovered. We decided it was better for me to be at home. My mum was a homemaker and I loved it. I felt a bit lost at the beginning but I'm learning! My husband does the bills as well, just something we always have done.

I got engaged in December, and I quit my job this week. Big life changes! I am currently looking for an online job or a simple secretarial position because hopfully that can be something that will transition easily into becoming a stay at home mom. I really want to homeschool my kids. Coming from the education world, I have seen public schools, and that just ain't happening. Do you/are you planning on homeschooling yours? Do you have any tips for girls in their mid 20's like me?

I loved this video so much!!! For months if been silently gathering material for my daughters (although young,) and my husbands 11 year old so that I can make a fb page for teen girls etc. wanting to walk in the fathers ways. I want to break it down to pre teen materials and stuff for older but still young women of highschool age and very early twenties before marriage. This is something I would love to share to the page one day. I wasn’t raised knowing how to cook but I was taught how to clean well HOWEVER. I was never sat down and taught how to budget, how to meal plan or make a menu, wasn’t taught about having a schedule to clean my home , or taught how to make bread (it’s so hard,) I wasn’t even taught much about doing laundry at all!!!! I didn’t do laundry on my own until my parents divorced and I went to go live w my fathers my step mom showed me at 16 years old. I have many homemaking tips I want to share and I want to give encouragement to young women growing up in this world that continues to grow more wicked and void of the fathers ways.

Love this video, but not everyone is going to get married or have a family. So loving and learning how to do this things for yourself should be a necessary. You do not have to gain the title homemaker just because your married or a mother. You are homemaker even if you’re the only one living in the home. And that credit should not be taken from you if you are the only one keeping up the home. Because a home regardless if you are married or single is not going to take care of itself. These things are just life long survival skills that everyone need to learn.

Hi! I have similar life goals as you do (though still in the single stage 🥰), as well as similar upbringing (Christian faith, lots of siblings, wise parents, etc)... Even a similar dislike towards cooking. I don't dislike it as much as the time constraints and potential to mess up big time (triple a pre-tripled recipe, check. Burn down the house, not yet!) intimidate me. My question is, how do I get past that? The potential to mess up and the time constraints won't go away, so it has to be me that changes, but I haven't gotten past making stuff like butter, and yogurt... I suppose I'm specifically wary of the stove. I can cook, bake, etc. fairly easily, but avoid the stove whenever possible. Thank you for this video! It's been encouraging, and inspiring.

I appreciate you stopping by so much!:) Hm, perhaps you could start setting a goal of learning one new thing a month, or week depending on your spare time? It is always so disappointing when things dont turn out. Bread was one of those for me for a very long time. Then it was pie crust. (It was unchewable the first dozen or more pies I made,) then one day it just clicked and it’s been much better since!:) I think perhaps you just have to be willing to have a few mistakes first, the neat thing about that is that then you have tips and tricks you’ve discovered to pass on to others down the road. Messing up does get you more creative too. Many a loaf of bread I made went straight into bread crumbs we’d then freeze and use in meatloaf and such. I still have any dramatic fails when it comes to being in the kitchen, (my poor husband can testify,) but I am growing more comfortable. Anyway, I hope those thoughts are helpful!:) 💕

@@BecauseitMatters these have been helpful! I've been improving my life habit by habit, and while I enjoyed life before, I enjoy it far more so, now! I still haven't spent a significant amount of time in the kitchen, but I often help make supper, make lunch, and cookies, muffins, breads, breakfasts, etc. (Woohoo!)... all in all, life has improved and will continue to, and I get to fall in love with Jesus every moment in this time! 😍♥️

With checkbooks, it's good to know you can write and mail in checks for all months or a whole year if you have that much money in your bank checking account to dedicate to cash flow. Mail early, call to verify that the check arrived, and it saves money on stamps. Learn how to use a checkbook's balance sheet and how to write on an envelope to mail to and your return address. Before apps and online sites were commonplace the balance sheet tells you how much money you have in the bank, if your math is correct. Also how to use the know where to sign a check you receive.

It's good for everyone in family to know how to do bills and basic cooking and basic cleaning. Sometimes we get sick, and sometimes the surviving partner has to learn these basic tasks. It never hurts to keep list of your trash water electric septic phone numbers on both cell phones and in the physical phone book.

I just want to say if you grow up in a family where mum or parent can't cook well, or issues with finances, you can still learn, it's just learning what not to do. There can be some good/great aspects or not to your parents, and still note something's are definitely not. But it means you will need to learn from elsewhere

I agree with all of those, cooking is a skill, like painting or crafting, you have to make yourself learn it. So many people don't know how to cook for themselves and it is one of the largest financial aspects of a household. People can spend a ton on food or only buy one ingredient items and save enormous amounts of money. Perception is key with running a household, raising children and being married. When people view it as such s struggle and difficult, it becomes that. Pride in your home and children etc. makes a huge difference. Just like dressing appropriately to go shopping or to go dinner, so many have lost pride in making themselves look good and presentable. We need to strive to educate ourself in all things, you don't have to be perfect, just willing to try. I make all of our meals except for maybe two a month and once you get into the swing of it, it's second nature. My husband always teases that I'm a short order cook. When I cook, I also sometimes make several meals at once to re-heat later on. The main thing is getting a mindset for being content. So many people just keep buying more clothes, knick knacks, decor, it's a waste of money. Find the simple joys in everything you do everyday, so many have less than half of what we do and are much happier.

This video is super helpful.... I am still single, not yet married and aspiring to be a home maker at one point. Thank you for encouraging me to serve more, learn how to cook and love those around me, knowing how I can serve them.... For the past two weeks the Lord has lead me to videos on homemaking like this one, and am grateful.... I formerly looked down on homemakers and there contribution to the home... But now I appreciate homemakers so much, and it's a command from God in Titus 2 that our primary role is to love our wives and children... And it's super encouraging to see you live that out.... God bless In a generation where women want to be equals with men, and women continue to be pulled out of their homes to go work and leave their children with nannies..... It's sad coz the end result is lack of Connection btw children and parents and homes are in disarray... You are a role model for us.... Thank you.. My name is Medline from Kenya🇰🇪.... God bless you

How do I find woman like this? I studied hard, worked hard, save all my money and closing on a big condo in PHX, AZ. I just have not found these super feminine nurturing types. I just want to hear everyone's happy voices when I get home...

Haha, you’re not the first that has mentioned the knife cutting skills, (or rather lack there of,) in this video. Apparently I need to sharpen my other knives so I don’t just use this one for literally everything. 😂😂😂🤷‍♀️🤔

Is homemaker the new word for housewife? Or what is it referring to?
@BecauseitMatters

No, I believe it has actually existed a longtime, but yes, a homemaker is basically someone who does not just keep a house, but creates a home. ❤️

I personally think the husband should be In charge of finances but that’s just me.

I think whichever is most skilled at it. We are still working out a budget and way of keeping better track of money, over five years into marriage. 😂
