The title pretty much says it all, and the video really speaks strongly for itself. I can't add much to it, so watch with an open mind, and if you're easily offended there's a good chance you're leaving this video angry.

"One nation under god" wasn't even added to our pledge and money until the late 50's. From the time of the founding fathers to the greatest generation, god was neither on our money nor in our pledge.

I agree about the 2 party system. But I think there's a bigger problem in how long we have had it. Even if we do disband the system, people may still have the mindset of it being there, and parties would likely return eventually.

Deterioration of healthy relationships between men and women. Everybody is so obsessed with their own goals and autonomy that the idea of a happy loving marriage is almost taboo these days. Independence is good. Everyone staying single until their dying day is not. Some people are ok with staying single for life and I respect that. But the fact that over 50% of marriages end in divorce is a tragedy. So many men 'going their own way' is a reaction to a loss of trust between the sexes. The prevalence of cheating in relationships is out of control. And for singles, its all about sex sex sex and rarely about love and companionship. Not trying to convert anyone who is happily single -that's cool as shit. But I'm speaking for the millions who are single, unhappy about it, but too afraid to trust anyone because of this idea that the other gender is out to take advantage of you - whether it be men using women for sex, or women using men for material gain.

Great video! It's rare for me to hear someone agreeing with me on that many points... But you basically talked about all of the things that I think is wrong with today's society. Not just in America, here in Denmark, we have some of the same problems. Not on as big a scale as in America, but the ignorance is still there. But you're abosloutly right, the two-party system is a disgrace to democracy! One thing you didn't mention, which I actually almost thought you would, was the fact that our justice system (both in America and here where I am) is punishing for the sake of punishment and that justice has to be served, while instead I think, that we should "punish" not to punish, but to help the guilty and/or prevent stuff like that to happen in the future. We have a TV show here in Denmark called "jugde for a day" where 10 ordinary people get presented with various crimes, and have to decide how big the punishment should be, and the fact there are still people who are so conservative and inhumane, that they think, that people should just get locked up for as long as possible and have their lives completely destroyed, is, to me, sickening. I could go on and on about this, but yeah. I think that's one of my most unpopulare opinions.

The other day i saw a facebook post comparing America to Sweden, the better healthcare, education etc. The thing is Sweden is around 1500- 2000 years old as a nation. Compare that to america as a nation sitting at a ripe age of 200. We got a long way to go.

I don't blame the parents once their kids hit a certain age. Once they become teenagers, they have developed an average view on what is right and what is wrong. It is up to them to take responsibility because once they turn 18, they will have no one to blame.

About opinion number 10: Coverkiller, there is a term called medicalisation. It's basically pulling things that we once considered normal behaviour into the medical scientific world and turning it in a problem that needs to be treated. It's a tricky subject. About opinion number 9: Yes,the two party system needs to be replaced with a multi-party system. About opinion number 8: Imo it's the American government that fails as a whole due to corruption. About opinion number 7: It's a combination of the bad parenthing of the parents and a failure of the mental healthcare system. Although the mainstream media barely reports about it. About opinion number 6: The mega corporations should pay a wage on which the workers can actually live. About opinion number 5: I like what uruguay is doing. About opinion number 4: They added ''one nation under god'' in 1953 because the sovjet union was considered atheist even though it was pretty much a personality cult. About opinion number 3: Totally agree. About opinion number 2: Yep,it's just a dream. About opinion number 1: Oh yes especially American teenagers. Just my two cents on what you just said.

I couldn't agree with you more on number one. I'm ashamed to be an American teenager. I'm in high school right now, and I get to see just how moronic the teenagers of today truly are. It's not a matter of "Teenagers have always been stupid", it's a matter of how American teenagers are legitimately getting dumber by the day. From the bandwagons to hop on, to the incapability to think for themselves, most of the teenagers in America are completely ignoramus to actual problems and feel entitled to have everything given to them.

I'm only on number two so I don't know if you say this later, but one way that we can help number two is if we abolish the electoral college and go to a popular vote for the Presidential elections. It will allow smaller parties to grow because they don't have to worry about getting enough votes in one state to win it.

I dunno if this would be called an unpopular opinion but, I think Pitchfork sucking the dicks of the DIY ethic in Punk Rock AND indie rock/alternative bands in the spectrum of Lo-Fi recording is giving these band a bad name, promoting these artists in a snobby way of praise, not pointing out the motivation it takes to make good music with little foundation. I would really like to hear your opinion on that soon when you get the time.

Matthew Ramroop it's mostly his explanation of minimum wage. He is ignoring the fact that as long as the minimum wage is below the wage equilibrium it's not going to create a wage floor which would push all wages above what companies can afford to pay. The average McDonalds worker is now 29 instead of 19. People are trying to live on minimum wages now. Most of the job growth in the private sector have been retail and food service positions.
@matthewramroop
@matthewramroop 7 жыл бұрын
LaylaLover90 So it's less about the wage itself and more about the fact older people are taking these minimum wage jobs meant for younger people under the assumption that they can "make it work...somehow" financially?

I agree with every single point you made, EXCEPT number one. I have socialized with plenty of people from many corners of the globe, and being native to the US myself, let me tell you, there is just as large an affluence of bright, insightful, reasonable, humble, generally likable individuals (like yourself) in this country, as there is an affluence of arrogant, spoiled, entitled, brain-dead, hateful fuckers in PLENTY of other countries. I cannot tell you how much it pisses me off when people (from Europe, for example) apply a blanket generalization of "fat, stupid, intolerant and arrogant" to the entirety of this country. I grew up here. Most of the people I love and care about, i.e. my friends and family, also grew up here. How am I supposed to feel when those I value are automatically branded with those labels? God fucking dammit, we are ALL PEOPLE; We aren't just "America" or "Murica," we are a nation of 300 million individual fucking people, and applying a label to us as if we, the 300 million people of America, are just one giant fucking ball of shit, is just as arrogant as the ball of shit that many people internationally hold us to be. Generalizing any group of people as "arrogant" is possibly the most fucking BLATANT paradoxical statement I can think of. I will say it again; I am a person, as are the 300 some million other people with whom I share this nation's land.

10. Religion class shouldn't be taught in schools, only at college as specialist chosen subjects. 9. Prostitution should be legal. 8. Paedophilia (the attraction towards children) should be legal and treated as a sexuality rather than a taboo, although the laws regarding child abuse should remain and if there's even a slightest bit of danger of abuse the kids should be kept away from said paedophiles. 7. Although the country does a good job at policing sexism against women they do a terrible job when it comes to sexism against men. Fathers should have equal custody rights, an even say in abortion and adoption, men should not long prison sentences for equal crimes as woman as they do at the moment and blatantly sexist adverts should be banned. 6. Military advertisements should be banned, and any killing by any American soldier for any war should be treated as murder, unless the war is a product of self defence. America isn't the world police. 5. Verbal assault should be treated in the same vein as physical assault, and if someone drives someone to suicide from it or for any other kind of assault, they should be charged with manslaughter. 4. There should be heavy gun control. 3. Abortions should be disallowed after 16 weeks, ideally after 12 weeks. 2. Animal testing should be banned. 1. Capital punishment should be banned.
@robo3007
@robo3007 10 жыл бұрын
***** I am strongly opposed to child prostitution, any sex with anyone under the age of consent should be illegal and considered abuse. My only point is that it's the attraction itself that isn't their fault. "Kill or be killed" counts as self defence, though. I'm talking about attacking people that would only attack in response to your army invading them. There's a big difference between simply stating your honest opinion and going delribetly out of your way to hurt someone, and consistently offending to damage their emotional or mental stated. Physical assault is not treated that seriously, unless you're thinking along the lines of GBH. I'm thinking more beating someone up of something like that. The UK has a complete ban on guns and our homicide rate relative to our population is a quarter or that of the US. It's next to impossible to get a gun over here, so I think that's why. Naturally people still use knives as an alternative but I doubt nearly as many would have the guts to actually stab someone up in person, also guns tend to be more fatal, and you can outrun a knife attack. The difference being is that humans can give the consent to the risk, animals can't and completely underserve the suffering. Teaching that killing is wrong by killing people is a little backwards. And remember this is their entire personality and identify you're taking away from someone, not to mention their conscious take on the world and well all of reality, you're effectively taking away from them their own unique reality.

This is a troll post lolol and you know only CATHOLIC schools teach religion right? You choose to go to that school and you accept that you will be taught Christianity?
@robo3007
@robo3007 10 жыл бұрын
***** 1st off a lot of paedophiles have never done anything wrong to begin with, paedophilia is simply the attraction towards children and doesn't encompass the abuse itself. Also murdering people is just covering up one immoral act with another, and murder is as worse as it gets. To murder someone is to destroy everything they are, all their dreams and ambitions and ultimately their entire personalised take of the universe. No individual nor the state itself should have that power over anyone. Your attitude towards suicide and emotional wellbeing in general is proving a fundamental problem with society. If someone was say hit by a car, ended up in excruciating physical pain and cried out for help, would tell them to get over it and stop attention seeking? Or would you actually do what most people would agree was the decent thing and arrange medical help? The problem is, when in the same situation but in emotional pain, people like yourself tend to dismiss it and blame them instead of the person who inflicted it in the first place. It's very much a double standard. Lastly, I get the feeling you're just making up facts to suit your side of the argument. What you said couldn't be any further from the truth, the 3 countries with the highest homicide rates all have very relaxed gun ownership laws, while the 3 with the lowest all have tight gun control. And as for the knife use in the UK, first off I should point out that per 100,000 people, the UK has roughly a quarter the number of homicides than the US. Second let's think about this logically, if you have one guy starting a rampage with a gun and one with a knife, which one do you think would put more people at risk? Which do you think is the more deadly weapon?
