If you go to Turkey, you'll see that they also call everyone else like their own family, ie uncle, auntie, bro & sis, but in Turkish language of course, not in English. I even think that Malaysian 'lah' habits comes from Turkish language, for example Turkish 'rehatlar', 'sabarlor' & 'selamatlar'.

"Malaysian timing" is only true in West Malaysia because this part of Malaysia used to be GMT +7:30 but for some reason, the PM wanted to follow East Malaysian time, so he ordered all of West Malaysia to move forward by 30 minutes on 31 December 1981, to officially make it GMT +8 on 1 January 1982!

1:52 Malaysian time is usually at least 10 minutes later than whatever the given time. But not to worry, there's a known workaround. If you want people to come sharp on time for let's say a 10:00 am appointment, you will say something like "please be there at 10:00 am English time" - key words "English time"... 😎
