You can try everything, sometimes it helps, sometimes they will just get you.

If your really safe put a small candle on a tin inside your tent and any midges will go to the flame and die a nasty death. Obviously blow the candle out before going to sleep. It works a charm but be very careful

I like it but a flame in my tent uff I'm too clumsy. I made a cuppa in the vestibule on a recent trip and that was stressful ha ha. Thanks for the tip I guess it would work in vans too.
