Thank you so much Marlena. As a woman who just turned 50 I appreciate all your tips and tricks so much. My husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer in may and we are right in the thick of treatments so my makeup and skin care are really my little luxuries at this point and having you to help me make the most of them helps me feel prettier and more confident as well as looking like I have it all together even when I just don’t. your facial hair gonna get thicker?
@jenn2077 Жыл бұрын
@@thitsarmin absolutely not. It grows in just the same. No darker and no thicker. I use a facial oil to lubricate my skin to shave/dermaplane and then a non irritating moisturizer after. Just don’t use a exfoliate for a couple days after to avoid irritation. 💙💙

Great video! ❤Esty here. Dermaplaning/shaving the face helps exfoliate the skin as well as getting rid of the vellus hair that grows. No, it will never cause the hair to grow back darker or thicker. But since the hair helps wick sebum out of the pore, those with acneic skin can experience breakouts. A good skincare routine will help prevent this problem. XOXO

I have rosacea as well and BHAs and PHAs might be better options for exfoliation, as well as gentle peeling gels. I've considered shaving my face for years. As someone with rosacea, has it irritated your skin? Do you have any recs for specific razors and shaving cream?

@@evalmiki2011thanks for that great suggestion! I’ll make sure I sterilize them in 91% alcohol next time. 🩷
@priyaravindran6150 Жыл бұрын
@@evalmiki2011I mix soap and water in a mug and clean my razor in it after every use, and wipe off the blade on a clean cloth before putting it away. Unlike surgical instruments, the only one using my razor is me, so I’m not grossed out by reusing my own razor. I use mine till the moisturizing strip starts fading. Throwing it after every use is wasteful to me. Men don’t use a new razor every time they shave their face, and usually women have lesser facial hair than men do. So, I can’t see any good reason to throw your razor after one use, unless it’s a super cheap one which is really only meant to be used one time.
