For the skeleton tower i would use pistons with building blocks to block the view for the skeletons when you are roaming your own base or are entering. Then have a quick access button hidden somewhere that only you know where is so they will find it hard to destroy the tower considering they will get killed everytime they get close. Also, on your door step, i would make a suffecating trap door with a magmablock. But make it hard to figure out how it works and also dig it way down and fill the hole and everything surrounding the magmablock trap with 3 or 4 depth obsidian blocks. Will make it impossible for the intruders to try and break any blocks before they suffocate 👍
