What you say near the end about gaining empathy by roleplaying the bully, complemented by the earlier point about empathy being about trying to feel what another person is feeling rather than actually knowing what that person is feeling, connects to how I understand acting! I feel very much like the source of my empathy is the years of trying to embody all types of people, particularly the villains. It’s often been said by my acting instructors that the person playing the bad guy should not see themselves as bad, but as someone who is ultimately trying to do what they think is right. Very cool episode! Really appreciate the mention. 🤜🏻🫷🏻
