Eye contact can be hit or miss. It works out for me in some areas, but I try to look through people or make it quick. But because I'm a woman people have at times taken eye contact as an invitation to harass me. I've had people try to get away with something, even with a large group of friends with me (and majority guys too). Shit is scary. Sometimes I just try to be quick and/or avoid the risk.
