Øver_Kat There’s not even time stamps.... so your point is moot. This is just giving away her entire video to people who check the comments first. People don’t even have to watch the video if you read this comment. I think it’s disrespectful.
@daemonskycloak68185 жыл бұрын
Øver_Kat And for those that do understand (anyone with basic intelligence should be able to understand as her video is 10 drawing warm ups and the comment lists 10 drawing warm ups) may choose to not watch the video. Which then reduces Baylee’s exposure, income, and diminishes the effort she put into creating this video.

I really love your approach in this video! I have used some of these exercises and found them really helpful. One of the things I did to improve my gesture drawings was trying to make them using only one line. This made my gestures look more dynamic. The first ones looked really bad, the proportions were terrible and they used to look disjointed. But aferre a lot of practice, it has helped me to make more confident and fluid lines, and I have used this approach in my sketches as well

sambeawesome i don’t have it in me to use a pen. 😂😂 I try and it doesn’t look how I would like it to be.
@sambeawesome5 жыл бұрын
@@idk_idk8431 I was the same at first. It takes a while to fight through that "oof it looks bad" to "oof it looks bad but I can just do it again". The point of using pen is to move on and not get attached. It's your sketchbook, you can keep it to yourself, so there's no reason to aim for top quality if you're not feeling that pressure to share ;)
@idk_idk84315 жыл бұрын
sambeawesome Thanks! But I like to draw people although I’m not the best(no where close to it, but I’m pretty decent ig it’s better than some people’s. Although everyone is unique in their own ways and styles.) what color pen do you like to use best?
@sambeawesome5 жыл бұрын
You're welcome :) You can do pen studies and sketches for people. That's how I started with them. I did figure studies of 30 seconds or a minute in pen to get used to it. I don't have a favorite, I just use whatever I have around. Any pen, marker, what have you, any size, I'm not picky ;) Sometimes you can get neat effects with different ones, or combine for other cool effects.

@jakewaitart95075 жыл бұрын
These warm up ideas are great! Especially considering probably the hardest part about sitting down to draw is getting started, it’s so easy to just doodle a bunch of circles and lines and then let that transition into coming up with ideas. I especially like the drawing things in your room/around you one, it’s something I used to do all the time like try and fill a whole page/spread with a depiction of the room around me, drawing my desk with everything on it, the view of the rest of the bus in front of me from my seat etc, it’s really something I need to get back into doing.
@valasafantastic10555 жыл бұрын
Helpful and positive advise. Very well presented. If you want consider starting the gesture warm-up with more time such as 5 minutes for the first one then do 5; 1 minute gestures then a bunch of thirty second ones. This eases you into the speed and gesture aspects. I find it seems to work better for warm up gestures for more people I've talked too! Character gestures: Have a reference sheet on hand of your own original character (or a character you are a fan of) and draw the gestures (3-10 minute versions) as more pose practices BUT change the reference into the character! Another thing I do is a full abstract or quick loose landscape painting either digitally (Procreate on iPad) or traditionally with something like gouache or watercolour. (you need a medium or advanced level of skill in that medium and in landscapes to do this as a warm up rather than as a longer exercise) Fun video thanks!

I have been hating most of my art because most of the time i dont know what I'm doing. Im drawing blindly. To try and fix this, I'm trying to learn the basics. Anatomy, proportions, color theory, values, everything. All of this is very boring for me, but in order to improve I need to learn the fundamentals. I think we all should, even if we draw in a stylistic way. Good luck on your art journey everyone. Stay strong :)

Obviously supporting you via twitch subs, donations, subscribing/liking/sharing your videos, mentioning you to my friends/family (handfuls of whom I learned either already watched your content, or started watching you after I introduced your channel to them! How excited I was!) - I am thrilled to be in your community. Even though since I have been watching your vlogs for years now I have grown into a bit of a hermit. A shy person with most recent times of crippling self-doubt, you inspire me to break out of my fear shell and share my own unique ways of doing art, because that's what I always see you doing. It's your thing! Call it Trendsetting, Authenticity, Humility, Passion, Fun, or just being a "Cool" sea cucumber ♡ You really put the heart in art. You're like the Ace and Queen of Hearts in a tight game of Artist's Blackjack/21!) ^ Artist's in comments, want to make pink haired spongebabe Baylee fanart with that maybe perhaps? /or maybe I should just shut up and draw it myself 'OTL/ ANYWHO LOVE YOU

I'm trying to think of ways to insert colour, or later add to the warmups, so it could be part of a sketch book, and not look like just a warm up. 1. Pick a colour scheme and colour the circles in. You can even try to colour them as a gradient for #4, but that's harder than just colouring them in, and making gradients on seperate pages. 2. See how many of your curves you can come back and turn into something. Don't draw them with this in mind, or it won't help your creativity, and it won't allow you to make the free flowing shapes as naturally either. Just make the curves, then come back and turn them into a work of art. 3. Make all horizontal lines one colour, and all vertical lines, it's contrasting/complamentary colour. 4. Make the gradients in colour, in the circles (as I suggested above) or make one gradient of one colour, go into another gradient of the other. It's still the same effect, it just blends the colours in the middle instead of just having light to dark. 5. Do the one line art works in a colour you like, instead of just pencil. Then when you come back to them, find a new starting point, and go back over where you drew, but because you already have lines there, and you don't have to think about it as much, try to draw it as fast as you can. It will gove each piece a kind of pop art look to them. 6. Draw each gesture interracting with one another, but do each in a seperate colour. Pick the colour scheme ahead of time. 7. Come back to this at a time that you can't just recall what each shape was. Initially, do the shapes with your pencil, but return with a medium with colour. Pick an overarching theme (I thought of "groceries") and using only one colour each shape, turn them into something relating to your theme (soup cans, box of crackers/cereal etc...) 8. Using pen, or colour, give the faces hair, tattoos, piercings, makeup etc. 9. Colour them in, but not neatly, scribble the colour in so it looks mostly filled. This will add to the effect of the sketchy nature of the practice pieces. 10. Draw the thumbnails either all the same size, spaced out neatly, and colour the elements you like from each, or draw the thumbnails all different sizes. Colour from just your favourite, to all of them, but make a boarder of a colour that complements the piece nicely, around the one you've chosen. On the back of the page, leave space to paste in a photo of the piece, if you didn't plan to draw said piece in the sketchbook to begin with. I hope these inspire at least one person out there ♡.
