Again, I just want to specify that I am not a Muslim scholar, and I don't have the authority to do any real commentary on this book. I personally consider the things I comment to simply be very general and elementary understandings of Islam, and so it would be valid even for a person like me to say them, even though I am not trained within Islamic scholarship. However, if i have made any mistakes in this video (for example surrounding aqida) please let me know so that I may clarify and correct it. That being said, as far as I can tell, there are no explicit mistake in this video or any false information being spread. If there is, may God forgive me, and guide me to clarify and correct it. Also, the music used in this video is simply vocal acapella music. The issue of music in Islam is a controversial topic. It seems pretty clear that vocal music is permissible. I also contacted an Imam in Oslo (a very classical conservative Imam) who told me that choir music is permissible and okay. However there is a disagreement among the scholars surrounding musical instruments. Some say it is permissible to use musical instruments. If you see any Islamic source claiming "music is haram", you need to be a bit careful, and keep in mind that the author might define music very specifically. He might be implying instrumental music specifically. However, even here, some big name scholars have permitted musical instruments, atleast if the music that is played is good and without bad themes etc. Long story short, given that the music used in this video is simply vocal music, with a person making beautiful vocal melodies for the sake of beautiful vocal melodies, I really cannot imagine it being wrong of me to use it in this video. Also, I once personally contacted Sheikh Abdal Hakim murad (Dr. Tim Winter) regarding this issue. He said that "You are overthinking things. God is merciful. My teachers were sympathetic to religious music. It is a minority view but not a weird one." Then he sent me some links to Islamic music using instruments. However, as I said, whatever opinion you follow regarding music, I don't think there should be anything wrong with the music used in this video. For more information regarding music, you can check out these sources.
