Little known to many, but the Maverick had the same fuel tank problems as the Pinto. Ask me how I know... OUCH!

You are confusing the Plymouth Valiant with the Plymouth Volare. 1976 was the last year for the Valiant. The Volare was its replacement. Volare is pretty much the same vehicle as the Dodge Aspen. The Volare was a piece of shit compared to the Valiant.

But they shared pretty much the same platform and parts in 1976 including the same drive trains, and suffered the same "vapour lock" starting/stalling problems and rust prone recycled metal. All Volare did was add some trim and charged more. Valiants had turned to crap by the mid 70s as quality control slipped and shitty materials became the norm. I had a 76 Valiant and it was the worst including terrible ignition and rust problems exactly like the Volare especially if you lived in snowy or rainy climates.

@@socksumiValiants were great cars. They were inexpensive and durable.. much better than what's being made these days.. they were just a dad car, no flash

The Buick Apollo 1973 was the only HATCH-BACK! version of this body style deuring the short run.

Excellent list overall but two significant omissions... the Chevy Vega and Pontiac Astre. These two bio-degradable rot boxes were the absolute worst American cars ever made.

Out of all of these vehicles, I would like to own either a 1971 (split bumper) Vega or 1971 "trunk" Runabout Pinto and supercharge an I-4 in it! #SleeperStatus

You got just about EVERYTHING wrong about the Mustang II. Everything. Pinto platform is an old, false, wives tale. Also, they're bringing big $$$ now, and you can't blame the car for gas crisis restrictions that are easily reversed.
