Shelby never made the 1962 Cobra 427. The first one was made in 1965 but most of them were made in 1966-67.

As a retired firefighter I won't comment details on the video showing 3 different American LaFrance firetrucks, but I do have this question. Is Jay ever going to do a feature on the 53/54 Dodge 2 door wagon I see as backdrop in some of his videos? That little wagon with it's Dodge Red Ram hemi and the transmission it is potentially running is sort of a greatest hits machine. The darling little 241 hemi and the greatest of 40's technology with the 4 speed semi automatic from standpoint of pratical performance. There were semi automatic DeSoto's that ran a million miles as New York City taxis during the war. My interest began with that transmission being in grandparents vehicles on both sides of the family up through the mid 60s as well as an uncles 50's lead sled DeSoto mild custom with a warmed up 331 Firepowere still hooked up the semi auto 4 speed. My first car turned out to be a 1950 Dodge with Gyromatic (4 speed semi auto) and have had 2 more flathead six Chryslers since with that 4 speed semi auto, a 49 and a 51 Windsor. And partical performance refers to the extra price of an early hydromatic and the demands of regular maintinance the cost of the 4 spped semi automatic transmissions and the cost of maintinance. Fuel mileage was important back in the day but that was due to lack of fuel stations and not really cost of fuel
