Back in 2020 , I was out of work for 6 mths , so I was bored and decided to buy a xj6 series 3 off a 18 yr old who had cut the exhaust off mid ship , everyone was looking at me 50yr old driving this loud 4.2 , I had so much fun doing restoration detailing on it and major service in my garage here in Perth , the $4000 I spent on it was not and never did tell the other half , gold with burgundy interior , loved it .

You just can't beat that body styling back them. I rode in one of those with the V-12 and at the hit of the throttle the dual exhaust pipes could be heard dragging on the street. A WILD ROCKET ride Boys..

Prc 77 is the radio we mounted them on jeeps from Vietnam until the early 80s. It should fit in well in your jeep museum.

Back in the early 70s, my neighbor, who eventually became my brother-in-law, had a 67 Jaguar E type with a six banger that he used to drag race with. He said it was faster than his 69 Camero with a duel carburator on top of a midrise intake on top of a 454. Both were extremely loud. I loved them both.
@msh_36125 сағат бұрын
C'mon man! No way a 265 HP Jag is faster than a dual quad big block Camaro.....ever.....
@corbetcochran57004 сағат бұрын
@msh_3612 he had a ton of work done to it. The engine was nowhere near stock. I am pretty sure it was bored and stroked with triple Webber carbs. No telling what else he did to it.

The XKE is was the car of my dreams as a teenager in the 1960s. Its body style was the inspiration for the design of the Miata, The other design inspiration from the weight/balance/handling/mechanical simplicity standpoint was the MG which was parked next to the Jag. If the two of them had a baby it would look like my 2009 MX6 NC2. One of my neighbors has a Ferrari (Lime Green!) which he was polishing out in the driveway. Told me it was being 'picked up' for its first oil change and brake fluid change in Greensboro, NC 230 miles away which was going to cost $4k. My Miata was only $24k out the door.
