I know it's been said a million times but the Savile scandal was not just a scandal it was one of the most horrendous ville crimes in British history, still in 2022 the powers that be won't acknowledge what he did regardless of the documentaries. The depth of his crimes over decades is almost unbelievable, and as we all know he was highly protected within the BBC and government. many many people came forward over the years but not one single victim got any justice, most of his victims are still alive it doesn't matter if he's dead the establishment that actively enabled him to carry out those atrocities have done barely anything and again Savile is possibly the most overtly serial pedophiles in Britain flaunting it in front of the British public, unfortunately the majority of the government do not seem to grasp how serious this still is.

I remember I moved about 5-6 years ago. I had just unloaded the moving van and all my possessions were strewn around my flat. I kid you not, a TV licence enforcer knocked on my door, asked if she could come in (I said yes as I had no idea at the time they have no power), and she told me I had to get a TV licence ASAP or face consequences. I was like, bitch do you not SEE that I am literally in the middle of moving home. Your poxy licence is the last thing on my mind. Winds me up to think about it. Sacked it off a good few years ago now, just another wasteful expense.

A TV licence was traditional in the late 1940s and early 1950s . If an enforcement officer comes to your door politely ask them to wait, close the door and leave them in the futile hope that you will return. The time they waste on your doorstep means that they are not harassing weak minded people

For me, apart from these instances, one of the most egregious decisions is to bring back BBC3 for broadcast while scrapping BBC4. The BBC’s constant chasing of a shrinking market which doesn’t and is unlikely ever to pay the TV licence, while treating those who do with increasing contempt, has led me to decide to cancel my licence when BBC4 is taken off the air. It simply no longer produces programmes I want to watch. I’ll be streaming documentaries and other interesting content from other channels, providers and KZbin from that point on, after paying my TV licence diligently from the age of 18.

I have one. There was a brilliant comedy show in the 70's called "The Goodies". It starred Tim Brooke-Taylor, Graeme Garden and Bill Oddie, and the show became a cult classic in Australia and other countries. All, except the UK. The BBC didn't like some of the material and showed it once, and never showed it again in the UK. So the Goodies becoming huge was hindered by stuffy people at BBC who didn't want the show to succeed (it probably didn't help that the show would sometimes mock the BBC).

@@superdrwholock jodie whittaker was wrong for the role. its clear as day that she did not have the ability to play such a character and as such she came across as a poor immitation. jodie whittaker is like a symptom for an illness, the illness being the rot that was chris chibnal. we all know though that when an illness gets better the symptoms generally go away and that sometimes in order to help an illness we treat the symptoms and not the cause. I prefer to treat the illness and get rid of chibbers and then the symptoms will go too (jodie whittaker and the fam). the only reason chibbers cast her was because she was a woman and he wanted to do something never done before to get PR. he thought that the PR would naturally bring people back and all would be well again. The casting also acted as a shield in such a social political climate, criticism could be bashed down very easily but we all knew it was going terribly. In 1987 they had the good sense to reject a female doctor as a radical idea with a great deal of risk attatched on a show that was at the time under performing. the BBC showed no sense when it came to chibnal and simply wanted to gamble what the show had left after the fan divisions previous and failing ratings of capaldi

@@sarahblunden4372 he was given an extra year, the producer was wanting to leave and the writers for doctor who at the time were hard to find, all compounded by the fact the BBC didnt want to give the show enough money and hadnt done for a very long time. Infact the whole of JNTs run the pay for the show didnt increase in line with inflation, JNT actually worked out a huge percentage worse off the show was by 1989 to when he first started and it wasnt well funded when he first started! Good writers and producers wouldnt touch the BBC or doctor who with a barge pole, as soon as they knew their worth they would be off else where and getting decient budgets for their talent and visions. Hell in the end colins final one was a writer that didnt want to be there, one who well died before completing the story and then 2 who didnt even watch doctor who and were more soap drama orientated (self confessed). If they had fired the writers that would have been that really and only would have lead to 1987-1988 amd 1989 that saw the show cancelled anyway

I was quietly very proud of the BBC & its reputation for impartiality & excellent programme quality, the pertinent word here is 'was'. I rid myself of my television 4 years ago in disgust at the bias & selective reporting of events, the ideology present in its programme production, to the extent of altering reality & fact in order to conform to their fatuous ideas. Despite being from a rural & white area, I've managed, for 40 years, to live contentedly in one of the most mixed areas of London containing a multitude of nationalities, creeds & colours; we all rub along together well, provided all concerned are good, kind individuals. The people here need no help or instruction from BBC in how to treat others. The BBC & people like them have, in the very recent past, done a great deal to undo all the progress made in the last 50-60 years against bigotry & prejudice, they see all life through the lens of skin colour & it's a disgusting attitude to adopt. The BBC is a pale shadow of the wonderful institution it once was & those responsible for this have betrayed all the work of their predecessors, I can only hope that Fate, Karma, Dame Fortune or perhaps The Devil will punish them according to their deserts, I hope it's excruciatingly painful too.

Allowing the BNP onto Question Time turned out to be a good decision. Nick’s car crash appearance literally delegitimised his party and views in general to the whole nation.
