Rookie mistake. Too ease non-wrestling fans into wrestling you need to show them how juvenile/silly but funny it can be. I got a mate to see wrestling in a different light by showing him Hogan/Michaels at Summer Slam for example. Got another who became a sort of casual fan (see still asks me what's going on) by showing her 2006 D-X. The serious stuff NEVER works, all they see is obvious fake fighting.

I remember when you guys talked about it in 'Worst Match Ever', but I have to reiterate: The ECW chamber was purposely DESIGNED so Vince could fire Heyman and prove himself right. He wanted to push Bobby, Heyman disagreed, got shouted at, had to watch his child die in front of him, play along with it and then get fired for something he was not even to blame for. The fact that Heyman EVEN came back so many times in the future tells Volumes about how good of a businessman he is. Because if I were treated like that I would never have returned to something Vince was even remotely tied to.

That's the unique thing about December to Dismember that sets it apart, it's a show that NOBODY wanted to do or see. Vince intended it to be bad, Heyman knew it was bad but couldn't do anything, the talent knew about the power struggle & didn't care as a result (the main event is a properly soulless match), the fans knew the show was doomed for weeks. It's a show laden with apathy & bitterness. Shows like RR14 & RR15 you can at least say Vince, in his own delusional mind, thinks what he's doing is right & fans will fall in line eventually. Not the case with D2D, dreadful show.

Royal Rumble 2015 is atrocious, but I think it gets saved a bit by The Rock's reaction. The genuine confusion on his face is perfect; he went out there thinking that he and Roman were going to get a standing ovation... and as he processes what's going on around him, you can tell that the words going through his head are: "Oh. Something is wrong here."
@mycahjofficial Жыл бұрын
Everything about that rumble match was just so appallingly terrible. From the booking just getting worse and worse, Daniel Bryan’s early elimination, and the worst of all sending out the rock to help out Roman reigns, which was not a good look for him, considering the fact that he was supposed to be the triumphant babyface ascending to the top of the WWE mountain. On top of all, that the fact that the company really thought that the fans were going to get the fans to cheer for Roman with the help of The Rock only for him to get booed as well was just downright embarrassing.
@BlackPawn1410 ай бұрын
If anything, The Rock's reaction just evokes how terribly wrong the entire conception of that Rumble was. The Rock returning to save The Greatest Babyface Of The New Generation from the bad guys was supposed to be a "greatest pops of all time" moment. It wasn't, because only WWE management actually thought The Greatest Babyface Of The New Generation was likeable. It was a cringe moment, as much as the entire booking of that match after Roman entered (hell, starting when Daniel Bryan got eliminated). The Rock was cringing when he saw the reaction. I was cringing when I saw the whole thing live. Awful.

What I really hate about Royal Rumble 2015 is that the first 15 minutes or so of the men's Rumble is actually really good! We get an early Bubba sighting to pop the crowd with the greatest hits, and we got Bray Wyatt running the show for a little while. Bray vs. Boogeyman was good silly fun, and squashing the other two and giving him mic time in between the eliminations really helped sell him as a threat. And then just as it was about to wear out its welcome, Daniel Bryan comes out to rekindle the feud and it's great! It's a really strong beginning, and it's honestly kind of impressive just how quickly it all goes downhill.

It’s like Vince was CONVINCED in his deluded mind that he could put on anything and fans wouldn’t care It’s like he learned NOTHING from that godawful O’Donnell vs Trump fake match I mean fans were literally chanting TNA during it and quite a number can be seen WALKING OUT

Since they didn't mention it at the end of the vid, the final results are as follows: In Third Place with 16 points: it's a tie between Royal Rumble 2015 and WrestleMania 32. In Second Place with 25 points: Hell in a Cell 2019. And in First Place with a whopping 29 points: ECW December to Dismember from 2006.

I’m 100% with Pete on HIAC 2019. December to Dismember is objectively worse, but HIAC 2019 is more personally insulting. I too was amped for the Fiend, most interested I had been in WWE in a very long time, and they ruined it.

Royal Rumble 2015 top 5? It had arguably the greatest Royal Rumble match ever (triple threat) and the Roman Rumble was HILARIOUS. The crowd escalating more and more is fascinating TV. Pete and Tempest are such babies lol

To this day, Survivor Series 2021 is arguably the worst PPV/PLE ever( in my personal mention). To have one of the big 4 events be overshadowed by a stupid egg that was there to promote a movie with The Rock in it. And speaking of The Rock, WHERE WAS HE?! Wasn't it Rock's 25th anniversary that year? Cringe battle royal! No Rock appearance! A cringe product tye-in! THE EGG!!!! Worse Survivor Series EVER!

Hell in a Cell 2019 made me want to quit being a wrestling fan all together. Thank god AEW had coke around because I would’ve left wrestling behind. I LOVED Bray and everything he did, and this f*cking killed me because it was the greatest character work of ALL time and it’s not even close. And they just killed him dead. It still makes me sad

17:53 How sad… I’ve only been to two Royal Rumbles. 2022 and 2012 (the one with the commentary team in it). I want to see a good Royal Rumble live so bad.

TLC 2014 had Harper vs Ziggler in a ladder match, which was good. Battleground 2013 is a bad show, but the match between The Shield and the Rhodes Brothers (with Dusty) is so incredible that I hesitate to write off the show completely. It's insane to look back at that match now considering how Cody, Seth and Roman have been interacting over the last few months / two years. Also, Wrestlemania 27 isn't that bad IMO. Edge vs ADR, Cody vs Rey and Orton vs Punk are fine matches. Sure, they're not 4-star classics, but they're solid. Triple H vs Undertaker was pretty good. And even though the main event sucked, I actually think the ending works. The Rock screwing Cena was a big deal and was a pleasant surprise for everyone who hated Super Cena.

Ah, Super Showdown 2019. Got home from work, watched up to the Triple H and Randy Orton match and it was so bogged in pace that I fell asleep. Ended up never giving it another chance for a rewatch. Btw, the only thing that'd make that Crown Jewel legends tag better, is if Shawn wore a wig and they both lost their hair/mask. 😅
