The hilarious thing about the Daniel Bryan firing was because Vince was forced to do so under fear of the sponsors. Reportedly, he liked what Daniel did and was all for it. He only fired him to please the sponers, with the idea of rehiring him a few months later when everything calmed down.

Jim Cornette is neither a wrestler nor was he employed by WWE at the time, so his inclusion on this list would be dubious. (Technically, none of the talent is "employed" by WWE, but that's another story altogether.) OVW had a business relationship with WWE and were contracted out as developmental training.

From what I had heard in the past it was Angle that asked to be let go so he could go heal, not Vince firing him. Angle had asked to go part time, but was refused and kept on a full time schedule so he decided to jump to TNA which was on the up at the time and he knew it would be an easy schedule. I remember there being a lot of negativity aimed at Kurt by fans at the time as they felt what he did was deceitful as WWE/Vince had let him go to heal up, but instead of healing up he carried on wrestling.

CapHowdy Agreed. I also think whatculture should check their own facts because as I remember they even said in another video that he asked for his release.
@CapHowdy
@CapHowdy 6 жыл бұрын
Kurt has said many times that he asked for his release, and that Vince agreed it on the proviso that he go seek professional help, which he then failed to do and signed with TNA instead. Kurt wanted a part time schedule and also wanted to pursue acting, and leaving WWE was the only way he could do that as they would not let him do either.

The part about warrior is only half true. Maybe less. He, in fact, did try to talk to Vince for 3-4 months prior to the night he threatened to sit out. Warrior even proved it via dated letters which were notarized. He wanted to talk to Vince who kept pushing him off and pushing him off. It got to the point where warrior figured this was the only way he could get Vince to listen to his demands. Warrior admits that he didn’t wanna ‘hold up’ Vince nor did he think it was good business practices. He stated he ran out of options and let the disrespect get into his head. Some of the info reported was true, but he didn’t just decide to hold Vince up at the last second. It’s been proven that he tried to talk to Vince months prior. I have no life btw, which is completely true.
@matrolmem3463
@matrolmem3463 6 жыл бұрын
NJ Wandering News I have a different version of this. A fee months before summer slam warrior had contacted Vince about his payout. Vince actually agreed to all of his demands immediately. There has been documentation leaked (not saying either are legit or not). Immediately following summer slam Vince suspended warrior. Vince's logic was to go through with the ppv which they had already invested heavily in. Warrior was allowed back only after his demands were dropped.

What Enzo was fired for though was the fact that he was under investigation and didnt tell WWE until it fully came out pissing them off and serving as the last straw.

As if pain pills for Cena were anything special. We all know that it's like a buffet of drugs behind the scenes, anyway. McMahon keeps his wrestlers high as a kite. He just knows how not to get caught.

Since wrestlers are contractors they can't file wrongful termination against the contracting party so there was no risk on WWE's end (unless...I dunno, contract revoked because gay; but that would be discrimination, not wrongful termination, and anyone who tries to pull that deserves the consequences since there's a thousand ways to cancel a contract that aren't discriminatory anyway), it was just a potential black eye since it was over racism.

Man. Del Rio is such a tough cookie. I don't get him. He has so much talent. He can do technical wrestling, high flying, he can create drama with his submissions. MMA Striker type moves also. So much charisma. Great gimmick. But he had such a shitty attitude. He could have had some awesome matches, but he often seemed like he didn't care what he was doing. Probably my favorite under achiever in WWE history. He deserved to be fired every time too. What a shit head.
