Kizarny belongs on a list of baffling things WWE has done that defy logic. Not for the gimmick itself, but for the fact it wasn't a heel character. Who the hell could logicially think that's a babyface gimmick? I agree with the guy that if he'd started out as a heel (and had a better finisher) it would have probably worked at least a little rather than just flopping nearly as hard as the Shockmaster.

Not sure if you've done a video like this before, but it would be great to see a list of gimmicks that had a lot of promise but just didn't work out for whatever reason (maybe the wrong time, the wrong wrestler carrying out the gimmick, or just written out prematurely for no clear reason) For example like you said with Kizarny, it could have had more effect if he was a heel

Muhammad Hassan counts for this. If he had stayed with the "Arab-American in a post 9-11 USA" gimmick rather than the "stereotypical terrorist" angle he could've been greater than he ended up being. The poor timing of the attack on Undertaker is proof of that.

I had a buddy that was all about the WWF. No matter what, in his eyes the WWF did everything better . . . Except when it came to Steve Austin. He told me Stunning Steve Austin was a much better character than the Ringmaster. And having seen his promo clips as Stunning Steve, I could never see why they paired him with DiBiase. Austin always had the gift of gab. And Stunning Steve is much closer to Stone Cold than The Ringmaster was. The mid card of the WWF in the mid-90s had all the talent in the world, but they had the worst gimmics.

Do NOT dis Kizarny. He is the Snoop Dogg of Sports Entertainment (aside from the REAL one). OR Stardust (because I love batsh*t crazy gimmicks.) I love Pretty Ricky (who wasn't mentioned) as well.
