Basically Shane is able to understand their gripes with the character that a particular wrestler doesn't like. They missed a VERY DISTURBING refused storyline with Trish Stratus. Trish Stratus refused to do a lesbian angle with Torrie Wilson because Trish said it made no sense for her character and it made her uncomfortable, but because she refused WWE management punished her by loosing her title and making her loose clean in humiliating ways. There was an identical story with Sable in 1999 where Sable refused to do something so the WWE gave her less screen time, and in response Sable rightfully filed a sexual harassment lawsuit. Trish Stratus didn't want to pursue a lawsuit because she knows how the mostly male audience in wrestling can be manipulated into hating her just like how the audience was manipulated into hating Sable.
