It's funny how even though Taker likes being known for the streak, yet he was more willing than anyone to let it go. The Dan Severn Ministry storyline refusal is an all timer for me. “Now they want me to have “666” on my forehead mark of the beast and they want me to be an Undertaker disciple and I am going “Timeout guys… Not gonna happen I live in small town USA and I will not have any repercussions to my family, my business or myself and I also say “you don’t realize how many people buy into this and I don’t need that”. If I do this and in the middle of all this you guys decide to let me go, that will be the last they remember of Dan Severn. Then suddenly one of the road agents says ” Well Dan we could use you poorly and have you start losing matches” I said ” you can ask me to lose a match but where does it state on my contract I have to lose to anybody? What if I walk into your world of fantasy and turn it to reality. " So somewhere in an alternate universe is one where Dan Severn goes out to the next event(Royal Rumble) and shoots on literally everyone and kills them. Amazing

They missed a VERY DISTURBING refused storyline with Trish Stratus. Trish Stratus refused to do a lesbian angle with Torrie Wilson because Trish said it made no sense for her character and it made her uncomfortable, but because she refused WWE management punished her by loosing her title and making her loose clean in humiliating ways. There was an identical story with Sable in 1999 where Sable refused to do something so the WWE gave her less screen time, and in response Sable rightfully filed a sexual harassment lawsuit. Trish Stratus didn't want to pursue a lawsuit because she knows how the mostly male audience in wrestling can be manipulated into hating her just like how the audience was manipulated into hating Sable.

Considering Orton went down with injury for a couple months after WrestleMania 21, probably a good idea they didn't have him break the Streak. Granted, Brock also left for a few months after breaking the Streak, but still it kind of worked for him to not get bogged down by WWE's weekly booking where they'd inevitably have him randomly lose on Raw, instead of only booking him on major pay-per-views where he almost always won. Of course that led to Goldberg being the first one to finally get the rub of beating him clean in 2016, so nothing is perfect. But 2005 Orton with his penchant for misbehaving backstage probably wouldn't have been protected as much as Brock was for 2 1/2 years after ending the Streak.
