Shockmaster having a horrible debut absolutely SAVED his career in the long run. That dude has a place at starcast and wrestlecons for life now because, far more so than he would have gotten anything as Tugboat or Typhoon. Shockmaster though? Up there with Mick Foley falling off HIAC in terms of clips that EVERYONE has seen. Even people who couldn't tell you who Vince McMahon or the Rock are, have seen the hilarious gif of the glittery stormtrooper falling on his ass.

I found it amazing that, while injured, Eddie Guerrero was able to become the most hated member of the Radicalz by hiding a pipe in his sling to knock out his teammates’ opponents. It was a great decision to not go home and rest but to find a way to be a big asset to the team.

In 2016 he wasn't entirely a main-eventer, but definitely upper-mid carder, at least.

Britt Baker is the perfect example of how to make a boring gimmick work. She isnt a dentist that wrestles, she just happens to be a wrestler that is also a dentist. There is a MAJOR difference. I'm a big, big fan of The Miz and Mike Mizanin. That season of _The Real World_ is the only one I watched so I saw the uncomfortable racial conversations he had with another housemate, a Black woman named Coral. By the end of the season they were good friends and apparently still keep in touch. You could tell his early unfortunate comments were the result of ignorance instead of malice and that he was actually a really good guy. I was surprised when he showed up in WWE (it was shown numerous times on _The Real World_ that he was a huge fan) and thought he had no chance. He stuck with it, got better and became one of the most consistent, reliable performers the company has had for a over a decade now. He's an 8 time IC champion, a 2 time WWE champion and main evented Wrestlemania. It's still kind of hard to believe that little dork from _The Real World_ will one day be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame with so many other all time greats because he absolutely deserves to be there.

When I was a kid, just getting into wrestling, I hated Daniel Bryan for the simple reason that I didn't like the "Yes!" chant, and I was too young (e.g. stupid beyond comprehension) to see a world-class performer when he was right in front of my eyes. A few years later, while we still thought that he was done for good, I finally saw the light, and oh boy, did I want to throttle my child self for not realizing just how good he was while he was still active. Then he came back to the ring, and my hatred for my younger self has... marginally abated. But at least I can watch him and Mox beat the shite out of people on the reg.

I would say Daniel Bryan's debut should rank low because that nonsense was viewed by EVERYONE as a load of crap and even WWE obviously knew it since they didn't keep him away for too long, just long enough for the heat to die down. On the indie scene after his dismissal he would get ties thrown at him by the crowd so the action got him over and he was able to ride that surge back into WWE with probably more acclaim than he had simply as one of the goons of the Nexus (it allowed him to stand apart and not get swallowed up like the rest of the Nexus when they were being jobbed out). I would say it was other decisions later on that did more damage than the Nexus debut to his aura. That turned out to be more of a lucky stroke and I would think the greater "What if" we have to ponder here is what if Daniel Bryan survived the debut and stayed allied with the Nexus. He may easily have become just another cog in the machine or even slipped away into obscurity as the Nexus as a whole tanked (jobbing them to Cena seemed to be the plan all along, Daniel Bryan didn't factor into it). The rise to the top that we got to witness may have been started because of the firing and not in spite of it.
