I feel the same way. I’m incredibly bored of my iPhone. I upgraded from the 12 pro to the 15 pro and I just feel… meh about it. Sure it’s good at what it does, but my god is it lacking innovation and new features. Now they they’re adding the AI stuff I got excited… until I used it. Now I hate it. I keep eying the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel Watch 3. Haven’t taken the plunge yet but I keep leaning in that direction.

The iPhones do have some redeeming qualities though mate , and I’m not an Apple shill , I’m a 12 year android boy , that’s had 4 high end galaxy’s , lg , nexus , Huawei , and pixel, as well as 2 iPhones , I would definitely say there are some things to this day I miss from android on my iPhones , but that works 2 ways , there are things that often do not get a mention that Apple is extremely polished at that is not always apparent in videos or spec sheets, like crash detection and emergency calling , and I never realised until the one day it mattered , on that day I had my pixel with me and my pro max , and at the end of the day I was blown away how good the iPhone did everything from calling emergency services with my location to also notifying my nexts of kin it had detected an impact , not once but to my next of kin’s annoyance about 8 times 😊. It did all this automatically. My pixel on the other hand detected an impact and left a button on the screen to call emergency services and that was it. If I was unconscious and bleeding out , ask me which phone I want with me , ask me which phone I want my kids to have. When you look at photos , nearly every high end phone back to about 2017 regardless of platform can take pretty good photos , UI differences are in actual fact pretty much just user choice . Both platforms are very good , and on iPhones you can run chrome with a lot of Google apps and even get Gemini on iPhones but you can’t get iOS apps on Android so much so , there are some benefits to iOS , , even the Apple walled garden that some see as a disadvantage can in some ways be an advantage. It’s funny when I first bought an iPhone 12 Pro Max my first ever apple product, for the first 3 months IOS seemed weird and un co operative , I just wanted to drive a kenworth over it 😊, I loved the hardware , but hated iOS . But I have come to really like it , flaws and all 😊. In the end none are perfect regardless of brand , although my galaxy note 9 was close😊 . Everyone has to go with whatever works for them , Apple eco system , and the underlying very good basics I lean towards the Apple stuff. One other thing I like about the way Apple syncs everything, if I have my iPhone on charge in the bedroom and get a call , I can take the call seemlessly on my other iPhone , my iPad , my MacBook Pro , my Apple Watch , and some other things too. Apple Pay is pretty good too. That’s just me , but if I ever need an android fix , I still have 3android devices to choose from 😊. It’s good to have both platforms , but for me the iPhone is my daily.

Great video! Also checkout notification settings for each notification you receive by tapping hold on each notification. On 5:47 I can see that you don't have silent notifications. You can have silent notifications that won't make a sound but still receive the notification, plus you can even make it so that it won't appear on the lock-screen/aod as well. So that you can have notifications that doesn't bother you, and give priority for important notifications. If you want to go all the way, you can have seperate notification sounds for each app, for each contact, etc. In the next update (which should be around March) we get Notification cooldowns as well.

Good video! Here’s a tip, if you haven’t figured out already. You can text through a browser just like you would use iMessage on your Mac. I do it through Chrome. The nice thing is I can do it from my work PC or my home Mac. Also, you can delay text messages. I know you can do that on iOS, but it is only two people who use iMessage. On the pixel, you can delay text messages to anyone.

I would love to go with the pixel but I tested out the pixel 9 and found even in something basic like the Bible app, processor was slow. I don’t know if it was the chip or bad app development but it would lag while I scrolled. This kept me with the iPhone 16 pro. I’m not a gamer so I normally don’t look for best cpu, most work great for me.
@kventinho21 сағат бұрын
Android is a ecosystem, so it can't be the chip. It has to be the app. Unlike iOS that is unique to Apple, Android is a system that has to be built for so many different potential hardware variants, so the app quality can be hit-or-miss.
@bk2470821 сағат бұрын
@ I’ve heard they have put slower processors in the pixel phones and people have complained about it. Processor power is important for how well it can handle managing resource demanding apps. The iPhone processor is faster than the pixel in the latest models
@NickKendall15 сағат бұрын
Yeah, that was something I thought about since the chip performance slower than other flagships. I think I have noticed it in small things; so far I'm ok with the tradeoff. Will report back with more in the next video.
@DanWalshTV6 сағат бұрын
Your bible app having lag while scrolling had absolutely nothing to do with the SoC (processor) and everything to do with it just being a poorly optimized/developed app. Generally speaking, the performance on Pixel's for everyday tasks is great. Yes, it's not going to be as performant as the flagship chips produced by Qualcomm or Apple and thus will be slightly inferior in certain areas (for example, graphically intense games) but that'll have near-zero effect on general day-to-day usage and in the vast majority of scenarios, you won't notice the difference. I have both a Pixel 9 and iPhone 14 Pro Max and for the vast majority of the apps I use, the experience is more or less identical across both. There is always an outlier or two, but that's more the exception than the rule.

People entrenched in a single brand or ecosystem (cringe) rarely have anything more than perception and narratives about other systems, services or brands. Nice vid. I’ve been on iPhone since 2011. Have pixel 6a as back up. I truly believe that iOS 18 n ai, really exposed Apple. Still lacking so much, implementation of iOS 18 features r weak n they r so far behind in ai. They have the nerve to advertise Apple intelligence like it’s something special. I can’t do Apple anymore. Getting S25 next month. Apple is primarily a marketing company, secondarily a hardware company n a far distant software company.
@NickKendall15 сағат бұрын
Yeah, I have to agree. Apple used to be the king of delaying new features until they nailed them upon release. I wonder if AI is moving too fast for them to be able to do that and therefore they rushed their AI in a very un-Apple like fashion and dropped the ball?

Mate, great video. iMessage and Airdrop are not my reasons for not making the switch completely. It’s not having AppleCare Plus. You know what I’m talking about being an Apple user. It’s the best thing ever. Your Pixel breaks; you can forget about walking into a Google store and 20 minutes later walking out with a new replacement. Ain’t gonna happen because there isn’t one in Australia; it’ll all have to be done online. You’ll have to send it off and hope they fix it in a few weeks, and you’ll be without a phone because in Android land, they don’t give you a temporary one. That alone is why I won’t switch. Also, the resell value sucks !! It’s really shit. You’ll get barely half of what you paid for it. That’s if you just bought it. It’s even worse it it’s an old one. Ive had many Android phones in the past but only as a second device. I’m not hating on Google; I actually am getting the Pixel 9 Pro XL in January but still gonna keep my iPhone.
