So, just curious, what iphone were you coming from when you moved to Samsung? How deeply ingrained are/were you in the apple ecosystem? Did you find anything particularly difficult with going from apple to android? How about a decent icloud alternative? I have google drive already, but not particularly impressed with it so far. I only ask because I'm somewhat considering moving back to Android(samsung) for my primary phone. I used to be on android and have an inactive s22+, but haven't kept up with the android world for a couple years since I switched to iphone. I'm thinking I'm a little too far into the apple ecosystem for it to be worth making the move back to android.

@@jeffs2809 i had an iPhone 8 plus. it still got updates, which is/was impressive. and the OS still worked smooth like butter. but some apps didn´t work anymore/didn´t get updates and i really wanted a phone with finger print scanner. i had a few airPods, i had a mac mini for a while and back in the days i had ipods. i used to buy a ton of iTunes music and movies. but i never had an iPad (i don`t use tablets) and i never had an appleWatch (i use Fitbit). up till the iPhone 8+ i had a new iPhone every 2 years and i loved all of them! but after that i waited for another finger print phone and apple never delivered. like with the airPods, there was more and more stuff that was simply too expensive for what it offered (to me). like soundcore is all i need for earbuds and fitbit is all i need for a watch/fitness tracker. i never understood the hype about Macs ... the data security argument was always a strong argument for me to buy apple. but apple isn`t as user Data friendly as they say and you can make an android pretty secure as well. android fixed the issue with security updates with their layered OS stuff and they run smooth like iPhones (not sure about the long run, but what i heard, they are pretty good even in the long run now). and once my concerns about privacy and stability have been put to rest, i really fell for the features android (especially Samsung) offers

The one thing I have learnt from this video, is that there are long term Apple fans out there that have never experienced a top end Samsung phone, and are still living on all the misconceptions about Android phones in general. That might have been valid years ago, but are definitely now a thing of the past. The technology and innovation is so mature now, that you would really be incredibly hard pressed to fault a flagship Android phone in 2024. They very often now exceed what Apple has to offer. You have proved this point eloquently.

Still no full face ID on Android. Not talking about just unlocking the screen, but opening secure apps, making payments, etc... IDK if fingerprint sensor has improved in the past 2.5 years or not, but it isn't great on my s22+ and was terrible on most previous androids. I hated having to put in a PIN code and having to manually enter passwords in apps (might have been in part because I was adding fingerprints to try to get it to work). I'm toying with going back to android full-time, but there's a few things I use regularly that I don't think I could easily leave behind. I've been running an iphone 13 promax for a couple years as my full-time phone. I can't think of anything I really don't like about it, but I don't really see an Iphone I'd want for an upgrade either.

Apple still takes 0 to 100% roughly 2 hours where most Android phones today are charging 0 to 100% in under 40 minutes Samsung overall still takes 0 to 100% roughly 1 hour 10 mins ish. So when it comes to Samsung and overall other Android phones faster charging is one of the big key differences.

To be honest, 85% of the charge is done rather quickly in both phones, it's strongly slowed down in the last 15% because it's recommended to charge phones at 85% and not 100%, we have to see how fast can Iphones reach to 85%!

I couldn't agree more on your size opinion. It was an adjustment going to my first Samsung Note, but LOVED all the features, and the kids loved the stylus to draw and color. (Those kids are now 18 and 17 btw.) When I upgraded to the Note 9, loved basically everything about it except having to adjust to an even larger phone. I have a great laptop and would consider getting a tablet, but hard to justify with phones this large already. Including my case, my 9 is over 7" diagonally so I have considered a flip or fold model. Unfortunately a contained stylus would be too important of a loss, so kind of stuck. My youngest is under 10 so definitely wouldn't consider anything that would deprive us of tic-tac-toe memories with dad that her older siblings all enjoyed or an on demand coloring book when she needs to be quietly patient at times. It’s made up by users. Apple created an advanced messaging system called iMessage, where the same unified app would also handle text messages (SMS). Since both are totally different systems, they needed to differentiate them (the message types, not the people) with colours. Then it seems people started to identify with that (at least in the US, in my European experience it’s a non-issue). That being said, more integration and universality between systems is welcome, and apparently RCS in Apple devices with help or solve that.

The misconceptions come from 1) iPhone users who have never even picked up an android phone, 2) iPhone users who have not touched an android phone in the last 10 years, 3) iPhone users who tried some budget android phone that just isn't even designed to compete or finally 4) iPhone users that just don't take the time to learn how to use android. It does take some adjustments and willingness to learn to really get the benefits of using an android phone. If that's not something you want to do then, by all means, stick with the iPhone. Nice vid. I'm currently having a very similar experience. I've been with iPhone since 2011. I've been using the S24 for the last 3 weeks. What an amazing device. Apple offers so much less and charges you more for it. One can say that the iPhone 15 and S24 are basically the same price, but not really. Example; I bought the S24, 256 GB version on Amazon Prime day for $659. An unlocked iPhone 15 cost $829 and rarely if ever is discounted. The iPhone 15 still uses 60 Hz, USBC 2.0, no AOD, no FPS, the previous year's chipset and 6 GB of RAM and now no apple intelligence. The S24 gives you everything, including AI. Besides all the bells and whistles that Samsung throws at you, let's just talk basic functionality. Navigation on iOS is a mess, there is no numbers row on the keyboard or symbols, no split screen multitasking, no clipboard, the notification system is also a mess. Furthermore, iOS is so one-handed user unfriendly. Why do we have to reach to the top of the screen for the often used control center and notification center? Idk, there are still things I like about Apple and iOS but if you love tech and innovation then it's very hard to stick with Apple. Also, it seems like Apple is pulling the same BS with the iPhone 16; 60 hz and no AOD. So, if I wanted the equivalent of the S24, 256 GB version, then I would have to buy the iPhone 16 pro, 256 GB version for $1,099. No thanks. Keep up the good work. Peace.

My first and last Android phone was S9 Plus. I got it while having iPhone X (carried 2 phones at that time) because I'd been wanted to try Samsung/Android and I could confirm the misconception about it being slowed down was not misconception back then! It actually slowed down throughout each update compare to iPhone X (bought first day available). iPhone X barely slowed down, while S9 Plus started to be extremely laggy year 2. S9 Plus battery needed to be replaced after less than a year too even though it was not used that hard since I had 2 phones so average time used were shared. It's 2024 and iPhone X battery still hasn't been replaced even once. Don't get me wrong though. I'm not an Apple Fan boy. I'm sure S24 Ultra, Pixel 9 Pro, Z Flip 6, and so on are incredible phones now. Technology evolves every day and I love all tech stuff. I'd still like to try Android again one day, but my Android experience in 2018 led me to be too far deep in Apple ecosystem and switching now would cost too much money and time consuming and I think this applies to a lot of people throughout the years.

The smoothness of the camera swapping on iPhone is no dark magic; It's due to their lens layout. All three are equal distance from another, so they can use software to blend them easier. Going from the top lens to the bottom on the Samsung is a very far distance, and therefore has that stutter.

My EarPods, Apple Watch and iPhone are all now 4 years old and still going strong. I use all 3 of them heavily and borderline abused. My Galaxy products would not have lasted as long and were definitely more glitchy. My MacBook Air is 11 years old. Apple just works. The one thing I do miss about android is the customization part, but Samsung had a lot of useless bloatware.

Freaking thank you. I keep trying to stress to people that apple lasts longer and connections is much faster and seamless. Not to mention protecting privacy much better. @@MinniNattyeverything you said sounds like someone who's never had an Android phone before. iPhones only last longer than 200$ budget Android phones. I'm writing this from my 1.5 year-old S23 Ultra that still feels as fast as when I bought it and with battery still in tip top shape. The desire for customization isn't just cosmetic. If you do anything on your phone you can be so much more productive on Android just because iOS lacks lots of basic features for power users. I wouldn't ever be able to daily drive iOS simply because the lack of a universal back gesture and a side panel would make me feel miserable. What you call "privacy" only means Apple is the one to hold onto your data instead of Google. If you're naive enough to think the richest tech company in the world is trustworthy enough to not sell its customers's data, there's no helping you. Apple's "ecosystem" is only comfortable to be in if quite literally all of your devices are Apple devices. When it comes to video, Apple’s social media apps(ie instagram, snapchat, tiktok etc) benefit from deeper integration with Apple’s camera technology, since developers only need to optimize for a single platform. This allows for better video processing and color accuracy. In contrast, Android apps often rely on more generic video processing because developers have to account for a wide range of hardware from different manufacturers. As a result, it’s challenging for them to optimize the video capture experience across all devices, leading to less consistent results. Google should implement improved color science at a deeper system level that all Android manufacturers can utilize, rather than leaving it to each manufacturer to handle within their proprietary camera apps. This would create a more consistent experience across devices, as currently, each manufacturer’s camera app produces different results, even when using the same camera sensors, due to variations in their individual processing approaches.

I have never owned an iPhone because I wanted the best, and the best back in the day was the Galaxy Note which has now been discontinued and is now called the Galaxy Ultra. But I suggest you to dive deeper - the feature rich skin on Samsung phones is insane with nifty features at every corner. And the integrations with Samsung Flow, usability with DeX and seamless wifi sharing is very useful.

Same here, I started with the iPhone 3GS through the XR, also I was a twenty-two-plus-year Apple user, Apple only Apple everything. In 2020 switched to the Samsung Note 20; it remains my EDC still rocking this Note 20. You are correct about Apple taking their time implementing things. It was not they do it better it was they had the marketing team saying they did it better. As you mentioned it took the EU pulling Apple kicking and screaming to using USB-C. Also, the same with RCS messaging, which is a standard, Apple will now implement it into their OS. As for messaging, for years Apple screwed over Android messaging all to maintain their users within their walled garden. Google, Microsoft, and Samsung, all have outstanding ecosystems as well, and outstanding interoperable with every other device and manufacture, but Apple deliberately continues to not work as well with other devices. Apple is all marketing for that I can give them tremendous credit. How they treat others is unconscionable. Disclaimer: I own plenty of Apple stock, yet I will not purchase another Apple product. WOW, I was amazed, to this day my Note 20 beats any iPhone I have seen. DeX is an outstanding feature which I use quite often. When my MBP gave up the ghost it was DeX to the rescue connected the Note 20 to my VIZO TV on my desk, never missed a beat. A few weeks later I switched back to Windows. My computing world opened, lack of compromises, and it is wonderful being out of Apple's walled garden, and their bullying. It is one of those experiences many do not notice until they leave Apple. Now, looking at the latest and greatest iPhone they all look quite boring next to Samsung, Google Pixel, OnePlus. In China the iPhone is quickly losing steam, at one time it had a cult like following, now they too see the iPhone as boring. Reports show their own cell phone camera put the iPhone to shame, and their phones have stronger and more features than iPhone. On a side note, Apple iPhone worldwide market share last quarter dropped to less than 18%.
