My 10 year old son has been fishing with me for Striped Bass on Lake Lanier for many years. We use nothing but lures and catch them by trolling and jigging. His biggest till this year was a 26 lb'er. This summer he really got into jigging and in this clip you'll see him hook and land a 31 POUND MONSTER which is his biggest so far. He got it to bite a Daredevil while using 20 lb test Spider Wire. Since this line doesn't stretch, he got to feel all the raw power of this fish and it was about all he could handle but in the end we were able to boat this giant. I was so lucky to have the camera on and actually caught the whole event from when he got the bite to when we pulled it on the boat!

Awesome moment in your son's life. Congrats to your son and "KUDOS " to you for being a great dad and spending quality time with him. He'll always remember this trip and other times you guys fish together, even those times when the fishing's not that great.It's quality time spent with him that he'll never forget and probably he'll do the same when he has kids of his own.Times like this make the tough times seem to fade away and be forgotten. I was lucky enough to have a father like this. We spent every moment together for 37 years. We fished in every possible condition. Rain, wind, 8 foot boats with oars, charter boats, my boats. I now have a 13 years old son who I am passing the trade onto. We just bought a new 25' Hydrasport and I am re learning my fishing techniques. Nice work Father. Great video.

I recently watched a video where some guy caught and landed a 500-600LB Goliath Bass and I posted that I was jealous of his feat. Scratch that... It's dad's like you that make all the difference in a young mans life!...Making memories that he will remeber all of his life. My father only saw my mistakes and corrected them with the back of his hand. When i became a father, i took my daughter fishing at 3yrs.old..and she caught her first fish..she is now grown and i have a beautiful 3yr.old grandchild..who at the same age caught her first fish at the same fishin' hole 2 days ago!..24 in. pickerel on the trusty 'black-n-siver' rapala!

You're a wonderful dad! My dad have taken me around fishing since I were 3 years old, he made me a good fisherman, and this summer we were in northern norway on halibut fishing, I got the 3 biggest fish of 8 man that lived with us, 27, 37 and 47 kilos, also got a few under that size, but that was incredible and the best time of my life!
