I love that Golan told Carl, up front, "I heard you haven't been destroyed in a while so it needs to be fixed." I was laughing so hard when he did Carl's dance and little jingle. LOL!!! But the best part of this game was the look on Carl and Golan's faces when the squared up, at the beginning. They genuinely like and respect each other. Friends for life. Just priceless to see.

2nd time the Solani slaughtered Carlini and a couple of posters still making excuses for Carlini. Impressive move by Solani at the end how he trapped Carlini's King in the corner with his Queen as he moves his King to back-up his Queen. I haven't played chess for many years and forgot some of these strategies. I live in Huntington Beach, which is too far and not convenient to see all the Grand Masters play in person. It would be heart pounding to see who wins in person though.

2:38, after ..g5, instead of hxg5, just h5, I'd play that instantly, even by just looking at the position it's obvious White was much better. Look at that f5 outpost for the knight, trade the other knights, and you have "bad bishop" vs a strong knight. Then White had simple plan, push his passed a and b pawns supported with the rooks, Black had those weak d6 and h6 pawns to guard from the knight on f5. Time pressure? sure, but it should be a simple position with simple plan for White.
