Dude that stock image made me laugh, I don't know who is having dudes dress up in a carpenter's belt with the most random assortment of low quality tools complete with a Pick n Save drill and covering the internet with the stock images, but I find it hilarious. I enjoy your vids!

About doing different things every day: I have worked for and heard about companies that can treat residential buildings like an assembly line. You will have a crew that just roughs in suites, one that does distribution, one that does EMT pipe etc.. and they just shuffle them around between sites that are in those stages. The company I worked for though, it wasn't always like that or like that for everyone, some people just got pigeonholed into the same jobs like that because because they didn't put much effort in and/or screwed things up a lot so the foremen would keep them on what they were doing right and when other sites needed that type of work, they'd be the first ones sent away to help elsewhere. There were some guys though who just seemed content to do the same thing and rough in suites every day and collect their check because it's easy work while listening to music or a podcast and they weren't too ambitious. To each their own, many different ways to be an electrician.

One of my least favorite parts of being an electrician is that no one really understands what we actually do. I still get calls for TV repair, Appliance repair, etc. That, and people who don't understand how much we actually build, who think we run around with small wire nuts and put wires together.

@@Selurit Hey man I don't know much about getting into the welding industry, but I would look up Mike Rowe and mikeroweworks to see about resources for getting into that industry - I'd also look at the community colleges around you for welding certification classes. Good luck to you, whether welding, electrical, plumbing, or any trade you undertake you will do well if you give it your best.

@@DailyElectrician I originally applied for my local IBEW union, applied, gave them my high school transcript and other info they needed. A few months later got called for the aptitude test, passed it. Then went for the interview a few months later, scored a 78, and was never called again. I tried to apply at other non union electrician companies, because the union said I qualify for a re-interview if I’ve worked 5,000 hours in an Electrician company. But no one hired me. Applied to a few plumbing companies that had training programs, and one took me in. Applied in September, got training in October, and was sent out in the field on November. I’m fixing simple plumbing things for now. I’m not sure if I’ll try the union again but I’m slowly learning plumbing……..

U should work in tech. Young people would rather be in a porta Jon on the phone for 20 minutes than working when time flies. People should alter the bathroom movements to accommodate a productive work day. It’s common sense. Lazy job hoppers never have health insurance or accumulate retirement.
