10 Years ago Nana left us. She continues to live on in our family stories and a little bit here too. When she passed I delivered this Eulogy for her which was written with the help of all her grandchildren. Thank you for helping us keep her memory alive.

This channel is one of the most important of all the internet. It is a catalog of culture and food long past, so that the young amoung us may know what life used to be like. THIS at its core is why the internet was invented; the sharing and storing of the world knowledge for every subsequent generation. Clara, and you her grandson, are heros for this. You have given a gift beyond generations, and to me, that is a truely grand legacy.

Thank you so much, not only for this lovely tribute, but for sharing Clara with all of us. I was in college when I first found this channel, circa 2010, and I fell in love with Clara's warmth right away. The first recipe of hers I ever tried was The Poorman's Meal. I've made it countless times since--it's even on my dinner menu for this week--and every time, I think of her as I'm preparing it. Her mother's simple cake recipe, featured in her cookbook, has also become a favorite. Clara was an absolute delight to watch any time, but especially during COVID lockdown when her wisdom of having grown up in similar tough times seemed even more poignant. She was a wonderful lady and, once again, thank you for sharing her with all of us here on the Internet. We love and miss you, Clara!

Chris, your heartfelt words about your grandmother are truly beautiful. It's a blessing that she lived a long and fulfilling life, reaching the age of 98 and being able to see her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. Time has flown by so quickly that it's hard to imagine it's already been 10 years since she left us. It's still surreal to think that an entire decade has gone by without her ❤

When she could she cooked you something, offered or ask if you’ve already eaten.
