Not sure if the band looks at these comments, especially after all this time, but this song has to be my favorite for so many reasons. Not sure as to what purpose or intent it was written for, but for me, it was a song of healing during my separation and eventual divorce. I can't tell you how often this song was sung at the top of my lungs in my car with the tears a'flowin' down my cheeks. My comment was not to sadden but to inspire that life goes on and this song gives strength to those who need to find their way. No longer out of place my friends :)

I have had to start over a few times, one of those times I only had my clothes on my back and my vehicle and God brought me through it. Not trying to push my beliefs on anyone, just saying what helped me through it, lots of prayers and God putting things in place. Now I am blessed to be married to a wonderful man, a home and my loved ones close by :). We fought hard to survive and made it and I hope and pray that things have fallen in place for you :)

Heard this on Pandora years ago. I was married and battling addiction. I was introduced to opiates with girl i was dating. Well 20 yrs later and I'm 29 days clean. My wife was murdered bc of our addiction when have 3 kids together that i feel I've ruined them. Listening to these older songs reminds me of all dumb shit i did for a temp fix. Now I'm trying to actually fix myself and feel its impossible. I love my kids and they are literally only reason im sober right now. Im just realizing i didn't deal with my wife being killed. How does someone deal with their soulmate being stripped from their life. How do i find faith? Is there hope? How do I find Jesus? So many say turn to God, use prayer. I wish i could but after all shit ive done i doubt he would listen anyway.

Jessies my cousin we did the atuam affect in his basment hes my 2nd cousin in the family.
@matpalazzo19652 жыл бұрын
This song actually has the opposite affect with me. I immediately identified with it when it first came out. Defeat was the storybook of my life through the filter of my selfishness. I’m 2 1/2 years sober now and it has EVERYTHING to do with Jesus Christ. Not religion, but a relationship, with Jesus. Reading the comment that you still struggle everyday with your past broke my heart brother. Scriptures like Romans 8:1-2, Philippians 3:13-14, 2 Corinthians 5:17 & Philippians 1:6 has set me free and given me hope. I’m not ashamed of my past anymore. I embrace it but I don’t live in it. People can relate to your downfalls but what’s even greater is how you overcome them. That’s what makes your past relevant! I don’t know what you believe or what kind of experiences you’ve had with the church (the people of God). Don’t let the hypocritical Pharisees that have bashed you change your perspective of God. God actually hates religion (I know that sounds weird). Jesus just wants your heart, not a set a rules to follow (which is what the hypocrites in this world full of religion tend to focus on). I can embrace the lyric “I’m fine in the fire” because I know that Jesus is right there with me. I could never fix me. I tried, it didn’t work. I can’t fix anyone else. I tried to save my mother, she died in her addiction. The Holy Spirit spoke to me in a supreme moment of healing saying, “you could never save her, I’m her savior”. Only Jesus can fix broken things. I wanna leave you with a song that gives a different perspective to this. I also want to leave you with a scripture that will not only bring hope but will change your life if you choose. The first part is a profound promise. The last part is an instruction. An instruction that will make everyday you struggle with your past a lot easier to deal with: Jeremiah 29:11-14 m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJ6xlGOCbKaWa8U

I just re-found this band! I started listening to it a few years back in middle school, but my parents thought it was a bad influence on me because its rock/metal music. I can't believe i forgot about them! I was sitting in bed when a song popped in my head but i didnt know the band name so i looked up the lyrics and found 10 years, again:) Their music isn't meaningless like the majority of bands (they always have a lesson or something that you can learn from in their songs), and plus i'm sick of all the boy band-craze going around:P Jesse and the band never dissapoint me with their music! It's amaing! Fix me, Shoot it Out, and Backlash are my favorite music videos/songs by them, but i love all of they're songs. I want to go to one of their concerts, but they never come to SC. I'm waitng for them to come to Georgia, maybe, but i won't be able to go until 2015:(

Actually, this video has everything to do with the song. Just listen to the first line "its taken a lifetime to lose my way, a lifetime of yesterdays..all the wasted time on my hands.." They are talking about the image others (record labels, etc) have tried to mold them into. In the video, they play all these stupid "characters" who are not the people they are. It's wasted time for them, they are fine with the band they are, the people they are. If it's going to end up "burning" them, so be it. Jesse states "I fail to follow"- he's a leader and does what he wants. They had fun in the video too just because they've made alot of serious videos but their cool as hell goofy guys. Love it.

Don't try to fix me. I'm not broken. It's taken a lifetime to lose my way, so stop telling me where to go. My lifetime of yesterdays won't lead me to your tomorrow. Crossing the lines, performing small crimes, are my way of taking back what is mine. I'm fine in the fire. I feed on the friction. I'm right where I should be. I've been so lost and so out of place for so long that I've failed to follow. So don't try to fix me. I ain't broken.

The fire of affliction is where God refines us as gold and silver, he wouldn't do that with copper or iron, only the best because we were made to be, though we will never be in biological life our affliction is testament to both our paitience for the right time and God's paitience with us to come to him when we're ready. Because nothing else in existence matters more than our creator being pleased with the final product that will be us :)
@brandonc1272 жыл бұрын
@@ShaggyTheClown17 you’re fucking crazy The only reason why silver and gold is worth some thing is because humans made it worth something if copper had a better use then copper would be more valuable get out of here with that weird shit bro
