This song brings back memories, and this video hit me pretty hard. I was pregnant with our son and at 30 weeks gestation I suffered a placental abruption. We were bleeding out and had to have an emergency csection. I'll never forget being run to the OR, the look on my parents faces, giving my husband a last kiss. The doctor gave us a combined 35% chance of survival. Now our son is completing his electrician apprenticeship and I couldn't be prouder of him. @dynnlopez56062 жыл бұрын
@@jthizzle4013 Cobain is a legend but to be honest, compared to smells like teen spirit, hemorrhage for me is a more challenging song because it has many and quick note transitions which compels the singer to use their raspy style of voice and if you're not careful with it, you might sing it wrong and out of tune. Therefore, I can say that Brett sings his song perfectly.

Whether it's simply about the way a song just has a good rhythm, how it'll take you down memory lane to some great times long ago having fun with friends, or when it's something very profound or deeply personal that it changes you're life in ways no one else could understand. It's heartbreaking. When I go to my old alternative rock station (which is still going in my city of Indianapolis! X103) it's all the masterpiece songs from the 90s and early 2000's. I can't believe nobody is making rock music any longer. It's saddening and maddening.

I'm 68 years old and love listening to classic rock and music like Ozzy, Pink Floyd, etc. When this came on as I was driving today this song brought me to tears. Thinking about those I've loved and lost. I don't know how I had never heard this song before but I'm so glad it played on the WRIF Detroit today just at the right time.

Songwriter Carl Bell on the meaning behind this song: "When I was younger, my grandmother got cancer. By the time they found it, it was much too late. Instead of sitting in some hospital, she wanted to go home and be home. And my mother and my aunts and their husbands went to sit with her at home. A few months passed, and the cancer had spread, it had eaten up most of her body and all of her hope, and it was a bad time. One particular day was a really bad day for her. My mother was sitting with her that evening, and she turned to my mom, and said, ‘How do you die?’ It crushed my mom, and it’s still crushing me."

dks9564 The 90s was an all around great era for music not only rock. This is our era, and it was phenomenal. Of course there were other great eras but this is the one we identify with and enjoy. :)
@Goldpilar10 жыл бұрын
dks9564 You're talking about the rock music golden age, '60s, '70s and '80s when the genre was really flamboyant, it was all about guitar playing skills and other instrument skills, etc. But the '90s itself was an incredible era that doesn't really get enough credit today. The '90s was when rock reached a very emotional, melancholic state that even the baby boomer rock of the '60s-'80s couldn't quite reach yet. That's what makes '90s rock unique even though it lacks the instrument skills of the previous eras. The '90s is personal to us that spent either our teenage years, or in my case my childhood in it, because for our generation, it was innocent times for us despite the dark nature of a lot of that music. It's a precious era because its the last time rock would ever again have a powerful presence in society. Those days are gone now. I wish we could have it again. Long live rock n' roll, no matter what era of it you're from!

@christopherclayton4174 ай бұрын
I was more impressed with Heart like barracuda and another song I can't remember if it is Heart magic man. Her guitar playing at that moment was transfixing. For vocals lyrics vibe and beautiful if not so complex guitar Stevie Nix of Fleetwood mac all the way and yes her greatest hits album doesn't need any skip. Tracy Chapman I believe might be 90s she blew me away. I thought Lita Ford was pretty amazing. Dolly Parton had many great songs. I do believe that we seen some next level female vocalist around the 90s. I would jump genres. Destiny child, Aliyah, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, I just adored Avril Lavigne, I am not sure of the time frames exactly but the Cranberries, Evenesence? Doesn't look like the correct spelling. I am missing a pile of fantastic female country singers. But taking it back again. I love Reba Mcentire Lights went out In Georgia. I can sing every word to these female country singers. Yet still haven't separated the names. Jewel was hands down my favorite for a little while.. please elaborate on the 90s. I would love to rediscover some bands of even learn some I don't know. She gets flac for whatever reasons but Celine Dion made me cry when she sang in Titanic. 3 older sisters out voted me. And I had a choice to watch it again and again. 3 times in theaters It is a great movie. Over 3 hours long though is asking a lot for a young one to just sit through. Seriously if you see this drop me a couple that will blow my hair back. Personally I love music so much that I am now bald from having my hair blown back. It was worth every lock. I just know that I am missing so many on this list.
