Ironic Spanish Flea is one of the songs here. It was used on The Dating Game, which Jim Lange hosted from 1965-1974, and again from 1978-1980. However, the song was only used on the former.

It was also used in the late 90's version of The Dating Game with Chuck Woolery

Uh excuse me? I don't "threadin" anybody. I'm not the person who spends all their free time badgering people to upload NTT episodes. I'm not trying to get your account flagged; I'm trying to get you to understand that you can't expect people to abide by your requests just because you ask them a dozen times. Sometimes I have to be a little rude so that I can get my point across.

I used to have 2 of these episodes, Carolyn vs. Marshall and the one when Elena makes it to the finals. Marshall didn't make it and Elena played against Jack.

On KYW in Philly, they started with the SUper Champs tourney. Michael Lagmay, Pat CHialtas, Kirk Moore, Carol Klein, TOmmy SImmons, and Les Gould were the champions of the tournaments in the order they were seen on KYW. But it's possible Tune was bicycled, with the possible exception of the games between Pat CHialtas and Kirk Moore, because they did the home viewer GOlden Medley sweepstakes during those episodes.

Zach Horan i remember when $100,000 name that tune was on KYW in 1984-1985 it used to be on at 3:30PM followed by the daytime Wheel of Fortune at 4:00PM. The All New Lets make a deal at :4:30PM and the final season of the syndicated Family Feud with Richard Dawson at 5:00PM

I remember when The New $100,000 Name That Tune came on WAVE 3 in Louisville right after NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw every weeknight at 7:30 pm (opposite Family Feud on WLEX) and watching my favorite part of the show: The $100,000 Tournament Finals!

Both Karen and Elena received 10% annual payments of the $100,000 until 1987. How much does that equal to today?

I just found out this is from early in the one-year-run, after doing the five-episode-pilot. All of those contestants were big winners on the original $100K Name that Tune with Tom Kennedy. Elena Cervantes won, and Barry already uploaded that episode. BTW, who was the very last $100K winner on this version? I think it was Carol Klein.
@supergamer747311 жыл бұрын
So these are the 14? Nice, I know Rockman won via the Mystery Tune format. Does anybody know how the others won (Mystery Tune vs. Tournament Format)? Also, which one was the guy who originaly missed the Mystery Tune, but was brought back for a seccocnd chance, and won?
@gosharks947 жыл бұрын
the original format was the $100,000 mystery tune, then what they did was is started with 12, then to 6, then to 4 (3 each day, 1 eliminated after melody roulette), and then to 2, and then they did a full show (Melody Roulette, Bid-A-Note, Golden Medley Showdown), whoever had the most points, won the $100,000 which back then was $10K/yr for 10 years

On the Tom Kennedy run, both contestants got to keep their money in Melody Roulette, but how come on the Jim Lange version, only the winner of Melody Roulette gets to the his/her money?

Karen won the $100,000 annuity cash prize in the original "Mystery Tune" Round guessing the 1930 Rodgers-Hart song "Dancing on the Ceiling" back during the 1977-78 season. The following season (when Stan Worth & the NTT Band and Dan Sawyer & The Sound System and vocalists Monica Burress & Steve March replaced Tommy Oliver & His Orchestra and Kathie Lee Gifford respectively), Elena guessed the tiebreaking winning tune, "Shortening Bread" in the Golden Medley Showdown, winning the $100,000 prize.

I remember when the show was hosted by Tom Kennedy that player gets to keep their money no matter if they win or lose. This version that player have to win to get to keep his or her money....I guess they changed the rules

AT the end of the "Bid A Note" round why were those walls put in front of the Melody Roulette wheel and the tune topics board?
@paulbalares23075 жыл бұрын
My guess was to prevent distraction during the round, with the wheels spinning and the topics shuffling
